Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 5065 is a waterproof in-line fuse holder for ATO/ATC blade fuses, with 12 AWG pigtails, a 30A maximum fuse size, and a 32V DC rating. It is a straightforward way to add fuse protection to a single circuit where wiring may be exposed to spray, damp lockers, or routine washdowns.
This holder fits the kind of boat wiring job where a full fuse block is not necessary and a protected fuse point needs to sit directly in the wire run. The fuse is sold separately, which lets you match the fuse value to the circuit load and conductor size instead of being locked into a preset amperage.
For marine refits and accessory additions, this style works well when you want to protect one branch circuit close to the power source and still keep the fuse easy to service later.
Key features
- Accepts standard ATO/ATC blade fuses for single in-line circuit protection
- Waterproof housing helps shield the fuse in wet or splash-prone wiring areas
- Supplied with 12 AWG pigtails for direct splicing into the circuit
- Rated up to 32V DC for many common 12V and 24V boat systems
- Supports fuse sizes up to 30A
- Fuse is not included, so the circuit can be matched to the correct amperage
Compatibility and fit
This holder is for ATO/ATC blade fuses only. It is a good match for smaller DC branch circuits where an in-line fuse makes more sense than adding another panel or fuse block. It is not the right format for MAXI, ANL, or glass-style fuses.
On board, it suits accessory feeds such as electronics, lighting, pumps, and other protected circuits that stay within the holder's current and voltage limits. Before installation, the chosen fuse value should match both the equipment load and the wire size in the circuit.
Installation and setup
The pre-attached 12 AWG leads keep installation simple when adding or replacing an in-line fuse point in an existing harness. This can be useful behind the helm, inside a console, under a berth, or in a locker where space is limited and moisture protection still matters.
Mount it where the fuse can be reached without pulling apart the harness, and leave enough wire slack to open the holder for inspection or fuse changes. That makes troubleshooting easier when you are working in tight spaces on board.
Use on board
This is a sensible fit for boat owners, riggers, and service techs who are adding one protected circuit at a time or repairing a damaged holder in an existing run. It also suits small upgrades where keeping the fuse close to the source and away from an exposed connection matters more than expanding the main distribution panel.
