Variants

This product is offered in three length configurations for different installation layouts.

The main difference between the variants is cable length. Compatibility with Raymarine Ray60, Ray70, Ray90, and Ray91 handset installations remains the same across the listed configurations.

• A80290, Length 15M. This length suits longer cable runs, such as routing from an electronics compartment to a flybridge, remote helm, or other station farther from the radio base.
• A80291, Length 5M. This length works well when the handset needs only a short extension from the radio body to a nearby helm or panel location.
• A80292, Length 10M. This middle length gives extra routing flexibility for many consoles, cockpit stations, and cabin-to-helm installations without moving to the longest cable.

Installation and setup

Plan the route before pulling the cable so the connector path stays clear of sharp edges, service panels, steering gear, and high-heat areas. Leave enough slack for service access behind the helm, but avoid loose coils where the cable can rub, rattle, or interfere with nearby wiring.

When connecting the handset cable, align the connectors carefully, seat them fully, and tighten the locking collars by hand. This helps protect the connection from vibration and accidental movement in normal marine use.

Use cases on board

This cable is a good match for boats where the VHF radio electronics are installed away from the operator, but the handset still needs to be close at hand.
