Overview

The B&G 000-15648-001 is a wired handset and external speaker kit that adds a dedicated control and audio point to compatible VHF installations using the V100 or V100-B black box radio. It gives you a full keypad and screen at the mounting location, so you can change channels, scan, and manage calls without reaching for the main radio module.

The handset uses a monochrome FSTN LCD with 256 x 160 resolution and adjustable backlighting with day and night modes. An inverted night display helps keep glare down at the helm, and received-audio rewind stores the last 60 seconds so you can replay a call you did not catch the first time.

For boats already running an NMEA 2000 backbone, the handset backlight can synchronize over the network, helping the VHF station feel consistent with the rest of the onboard lighting and electronics.

Key features
  • Works with B&G V100 and V100-B black box VHF radios
  • Monochrome FSTN LCD display with 256 x 160 resolution for clear channel and menu readout
  • Day and night display modes, including inverted night mode to reduce glare after dark
  • White LED backlight with 10 brightness levels
  • Backlight synchronization over NMEA 2000 for coordinated lighting with compatible systems
  • Alphanumeric keypad for fast channel access, scanning, and favorites
  • Handset station naming to keep multi-station setups organized
  • 60-second audio rewind to replay recently received transmissions
  • Includes an external VHF speaker for mounting where you need stronger audio output
Installation and setup

This kit is typically mounted where you want a second operating position, such as the cockpit on a sailboat, an aft station on a sportfisher, or a nav station where the black box radio is out of reach. Plan the route for the handset lead and speaker wiring so they stay protected from chafe and do not share runs with high-current power cabling where noise can be introduced.

If your boat uses NMEA 2000 lighting control and the VHF is tied into the backbone, the handset backlight can follow the network lighting state. If there is no NMEA 2000 network on board, the handset still functions as a wired control and audio station.

Compatibility and fit

This handset and speaker kit is intended for B&G V100 and V100-B black box VHF radios. It is a good match when you want full VHF control at a second location, not just a remote microphone, and when you want clearer audio in a noisy helm or open cockpit.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
