Overview
The Garmin 010-12342-00 is a swim-focused heart rate monitor strap that records your heart rate while you are in the water and sends it to a compatible Garmin watch when you surface for a rest interval.
It uses ANT+ wireless (2.4 GHz) and is rated to 5 ATM. For stored-data transfers, keep the watch within about 3 m of the strap once you are out of the water. The strap can store up to 20 hours of heart rate data for a single activity.
This is a good match for pool training, open-water swims, and triathlon pool legs, including sessions where you start from a dock or swim off the boat. It is intended for chlorinated pools and saltwater use, and a quick fresh-water rinse after a swim helps keep it comfortable.

Compatibility and fit
This strap is for Garmin devices that can pair to an ANT+ heart rate sensor and support stored heart rate downloads from swim straps. Heart rate is not shown on the watch while the strap is underwater, so plan to review data after rest intervals or at the end of the activity.
Fit matters in the water. Wear it snug against bare skin, centered on the chest, and tighten enough that it does not slide when you push off.
Use on board
If you do open-water sessions while cruising, this strap helps you keep heart rate trends for structured training swims off the stern or from a dinghy drop. It also suits crew fitness routines where you want consistent data without bringing a phone poolside or dockside.
Care in a marine environment

Processing and dispatch
