Overview
The Victron Energy BMS300200200 is a VE.Bus BMS V2 battery management system for Victron Lithium Battery Smart LiFePO4 banks used with Victron VE.Bus inverters and inverter chargers. It is built for 12 V, 24 V and 48 V DC systems, with a 9 to 70 VDC input range, so it suits many modern marine lithium installations built around MultiPlus, Quattro or other compatible VE.Bus equipment.
This BMS monitors battery protection signals for cell undervoltage, cell overvoltage and temperature limits, then acts through VE.Bus and its disconnect terminals to help protect the battery bank. On board, that matters when house loads, charging sources, shore power, generator charging and solar charging all need to work together without pushing the lithium bank outside its safe operating range.
The unit has two RJ45 VE.Bus communication sockets, GX-Pow and Aux-In terminals rated at 1 A, a pre-alarm output rated at 1 A, and separate Load disconnect and Charge disconnect outputs. Its ABS enclosure measures 23.8 mm x 94.5 mm x 105.5 mm and carries an IP20 protection grade, so it belongs in a dry, protected electrical space rather than an exposed cockpit, deck locker or washdown area.
Key features
- Works with Victron Lithium Battery Smart LiFePO4 batteries in 12 V, 24 V or 48 V battery banks.
- Interfaces with Victron VE.Bus inverters and inverter chargers, including MultiPlus and Quattro systems that meet the required compatibility and firmware conditions.
- Uses VE.Bus communication to stop inverting during cell undervoltage events and stop or limit charging during cell overvoltage or temperature fault conditions.
- Load disconnect output can control compatible DC loads or switching devices when the battery bank needs protection from further discharge.
- Charge disconnect output can control chargers or charging control circuits when charging must stop.
- Pre-alarm output gives an early warning before a low-cell shutdown, useful for alert circuits at the helm, nav station or electrical panel.
- Remote on/off terminals allow the BMS to be switched from a panel switch or relay contact.
- Remote panel port supports connection to a GX device, VE.Bus Smart dongle or Digital Multi Control for system monitoring and control options.
- GX-Pow and Aux-In terminals help keep a GX device powered when auxiliary power is available, supporting remote diagnostics in more complex installations.
- IP20 ABS housing is suited to protected indoor mounting in an electrical cabinet, equipment bay or dry technical space.
Compatibility and fit
This VE.Bus BMS V2 is for Victron Lithium Battery Smart batteries with 12.8 V or 25.6 V nominal battery modules. Those batteries can be arranged in series, parallel or series-parallel layouts to build 12 V, 24 V or 48 V systems, with the battery BMS cables daisy chained when multiple batteries are installed.
It must be used with a compatible VE.Bus inverter or inverter charger because the BMS relies on the VE.Bus connection for operation. Inverters or inverter chargers with older small processors labeled 19XXXXX or 20XXXXX are not supported. For a refit, repower or lithium upgrade on a boat, the inverter charger model and firmware should be checked before the BMS is installed.
Installation and setup
Mount the BMS where it is protected from spray, dripping water, salt mist and physical damage. A dry electrical locker near the inverter charger and battery control wiring is typically the right kind of location, especially where the RJ45 VE.Bus cable, battery BMS cables and disconnect wiring can be kept tidy and serviceable.
The VE.Bus port of the inverter, MultiPlus or Quattro connects to the MultiPlus/Quattro port on the BMS using an RJ45 UTP cable. The battery BMS cables connect to the BMS, and in multi-battery banks the first and last battery BMS leads complete the daisy chain back to the unit.
A DC power cable for powering the BMS is not included. Use a suitable cable and inline fuse as required for the installation, and keep all lithium battery, charger, inverter and alternator integration work within the limits of the connected equipment.
Electrical and system integration
The Load disconnect output is normally high and becomes floating when loads need to be disconnected. The Charge disconnect output is normally high and becomes floating when charging should stop. These outputs are useful when coordinating DC loads, BatteryProtect devices, solar chargers, DC-DC chargers or other charge sources in a marine lithium system.
With a GX device in the system, the BMS can be part of a broader Victron monitoring setup and can support control of compatible charging equipment through DVCC. This is a strong fit for boats where the crew wants central visibility of the lithium bank, inverter charger and charging sources from a Cerbo GX, display or remote monitoring setup.
Use cases on board
This BMS is a practical match for cruising boats, fishing boats and workboats that use Victron Lithium Battery Smart banks with VE.Bus inverter charger equipment. It is especially relevant where the house bank supports heavy DC loads, AC loads through an inverter, shore power charging, generator charging or solar charging.
Because the enclosure is IP20, it should be treated as electrical control equipment rather than exposed deck hardware. Install it in a dry technical area with good access for inspection, wiring checks and future system service.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
