Overview
The Perko 1611 is a telescoping white all-round pole light for sail or power driven vessels under 20 meters, giving the boat a 2 nautical mile certified navigation light in a height-adjustable stern or cockpit installation.
This 12 Volt incandescent light uses a white translucent globe with a black polymer top, a chrome plated zinc alloy base, and a 3/4 inch diameter anodized pole. The pole has a locking collar, so the height can be set for the boat’s layout while keeping the light visible above nearby gear, seating, or deck hardware.
The 16 degree rake helps the pole sit at the proper angle when mounted on common angled surfaces, and the included mounting base measures 3-3/4 inches by 1-5/8 inches. It is a practical match for small cruisers, fishing boats, runabouts, and sailboats that need a certified all-round white light with limited cockpit illumination from the globe.
Key features
- White all-round navigation light certified for 2 nautical mile visibility on vessels under 20 meters.
- 12 Volt incandescent operation with an 11 watt bulb and .94 amp draw.
- Telescoping pole with a locking collar for adjusting the light height to suit the mounting location.
- White translucent globe gives all-round visibility even when the globe is not perfectly level.
- Black polymer top, chrome plated zinc alloy base, and 3/4 inch diameter anodized pole for exposed deck and cockpit use.
- 16 degree pole rake supports installation on angled mounting surfaces.
- Mounting base uses #8 screws and has a 3-3/4 inch by 1-5/8 inch footprint.
Variants
This Perko 1611 telescoping pole light is offered in three vertical height configurations.
The height is the attribute that changes between variants. The 12 Volt light, white translucent globe, black polymer top, chrome plated zinc alloy base, locking collar, 3/4 inch anodized pole, 16 degree rake, and included mounting base remain consistent across the listed configurations.
- 1611DP2CHR: Vertical height is 20-1/4 inches. This shorter pole suits lower-profile stern or cockpit locations where the light still needs to sit above nearby obstructions.
- 1611DP3CHR: Vertical height is 26-1/2 inches. This mid-height option gives additional clearance for seating, rails, or gear around the mounting point.
- 1611DP4CHR: Vertical height is 32-3/8 inches. This taller version is useful where the light needs more elevation for clear all-round visibility from the stern area.
Installation and fit
Before installation, confirm that the selected height clears the highest nearby obstruction from all viewing angles required for an all-round white light. The base footprint and #8 screw size should be checked against the mounting surface, especially on narrow gunwales, transom caps, and cockpit coamings.
Wire it into a properly protected 12 Volt navigation light circuit and keep connections sealed from spray and washdown water. As with any navigation light, the final mounting position matters as much as the light itself, so avoid locations where biminis, rods, rails, outboards, or passengers can block the globe.
