Overview
The Garmin 010-13009-07 is a 24 Vdc relay switch that lets you turn a DC accessory on and off through a Garmin OnDeck Hub. The control side operates on 15.6 to 31.2 Vdc, and the switched contacts are rated for loads from 0.1 A up to 8 A at 20 to 32 Vdc (up to 9 A at 10 to 16 Vdc).
Once it is wired and configured in the OnDeck system, the switch can be controlled from the ActiveCaptain app and from compatible Garmin chartplotters. A single OnDeck Hub can support up to five relay switches, which is handy when you want separate control of a few circuits rather than tying everything into one feed.
This is a good fit for 24 V boats that already have an OnDeck Hub installed and want remote on and off control for a modest-load circuit such as lighting, a fan, a small pump, or powering a network segment, as long as the current draw stays within the relay rating.

Installation and setup
Mount the relay where it stays dry and is protected from spray, typically near your DC distribution point so the high-current wiring runs are short. Secure it so it cannot move or chafe as the boat pounds, and keep wiring supported with proper strain relief.
On the wiring side, think of this as two parts: a low-current control connection into the OnDeck system, and a separate set of contacts that switch your accessory circuit. Label both ends while you work so the switch name in the app matches what it actually controls at the panel.
Electrical and system integration
Plan the switched circuit like any other onboard DC branch: fuse it correctly, choose wire gauge based on current and run length, and keep all connections clean and tight. Stay within the contact ratings, especially with devices that have a high inrush current.
If you are switching inductive loads like a solenoid or small motor, follow the device maker guidance for suppression and wiring practices to reduce arcing and electrical noise.
Compatibility and fit
This relay switch is for OnDeck systems running on a 24 V supply, with the control side requiring 15.6 to 31.2 Vdc. If your boat and OnDeck Hub are powered from a 12 V house bank, this is not the right relay version for the control side.
On the load side, it can switch either 12 V or 24 V circuits as long as the current and voltage stay within the published contact ratings, but it is typically used in 24 V installations to match the onboard system voltage.

Owners commonly use an OnDeck-controlled relay for deck or cockpit lighting, a cabin fan, a small utility pump, or powering a piece of equipment that you want off when the boat is unattended. It is also useful when you want a controlled feed to a subsystem that otherwise would be left energized at the dock.
