Overview

The Raymarine SeaTalk NG to NMEA 2000 backbone adaptor is a short network cable used to join Raymarine SeaTalk NG backbone cabling with NMEA 2000 DeviceNet backbone connections. It is made for mixed marine electronics networks where Raymarine displays, instruments, pilots, sensors, or other onboard devices need to share data through a NMEA 2000-style backbone.

Each adaptor is 400 mm long, which is enough length for a clean connection inside a helm console, electronics locker, or behind a dash without leaving a large cable loop. One end uses the Raymarine SeaTalk NG backbone connection, and the other end uses a threaded DeviceNet NMEA 2000 connector in either male or female form, depending on the selected variant.

This adaptor is most useful when expanding an existing SeaTalk NG system, adding NMEA 2000 backbone cabling, or working through a retrofit where Raymarine and non-Raymarine network components need to be connected correctly.

Key features
  • Connects Raymarine SeaTalk NG backbone cabling to NMEA 2000 DeviceNet backbone cabling.
  • 400 mm cable length helps keep wiring tidy in tight helm, console, and electronics cabinet installations.
  • Available with a male or female threaded DeviceNet connector to match the required NMEA 2000 backbone connection.
  • Supports mixed networks that combine Raymarine SeaTalk NG components with NMEA 2000-style cabling.
  • Useful for refits, electronics upgrades, and system expansions where the existing backbone uses more than one connector style.
Variants

This product is offered in two configurations. Both are SeaTalk NG to DeviceNet backbone adaptor cables, with the DeviceNet connector gender changing between variants.

The main difference is the DeviceNet end of the cable. The correct version depends on the mating connector already installed in the NMEA 2000 backbone or on the connection point being added to the vessel network.

  • A80674: Port STNG to DeviceNet Male. This version uses a male DeviceNet end for installations where the NMEA 2000 backbone connection requires a male threaded connector.
  • A80675: Port STNG to DeviceNet Female. This version uses a female DeviceNet end for installations where the NMEA 2000 backbone connection requires a female threaded connector.
Installation and setup

Before installing, check the connector gender needed at the NMEA 2000 side and confirm that the connection is being made on the backbone, not at a spur connection. The SeaTalk NG end should be matched to the Raymarine backbone side of the network, while the DeviceNet end should match the corresponding NMEA 2000 backbone connector.

Route the cable where it will not be pulled tight, pinched behind panels, or exposed to repeated movement. In helm and dash installations, a small service loop can make future electronics work easier without putting strain on the connector.

Compatibility and fit

This adaptor is intended for SeaTalk NG and NMEA 2000 backbone integration. It is a practical fit for boats that already have Raymarine networking in place and need to interface with NMEA 2000-style backbone cabling during an upgrade, replacement, or mixed-brand installation.

It is a good match for installers and boat owners who need a clean cable-level transition between connector systems without rebuilding the whole network. Confirm the male or female DeviceNet requirement before ordering, since the two versions are physically different at the NMEA 2000 end.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
