Overview

The Attwood Marine 5614-7 is a 12V non-automatic bilge pump kit built around the Tsunami Mk2 T500 pump. It is rated for 500 GPH and comes packaged as a complete 3/4 in I.D. hose installation set, so you are not piecing together the hose, thru-hull fitting, switch, wiring, and small hardware separately.

This is the right kind of setup when you want a manually switched electric bilge pump rather than an automatic pump with a built-in float or sensor. The Tsunami Mk2 pump uses an X-Air impeller that clears trapped air from the pump and discharge line, which helps in installations where hose routing or mounting position can leave air pockets behind.

The pump itself is IP68 rated, uses a 29 in lead, and can pump down to a 10 mm water level. The T500 pump accepts 3/4 in and 1 in barbed outlet connections, while this kit is packaged around a 3/4 in discharge run.

Key features
  • 12V Tsunami Mk2 T500 bilge pump rated at 500 GPH for a manually switched bilge circuit.
  • X-Air impeller helps clear trapped air from the pump and pipework, which reduces the chance of an airlock stopping flow.
  • Installation kit is arranged for a 3/4 in I.D. hose run and includes the discharge hose, matching thru-hull fitting, clamps, switch, wire, and fuse holder.
  • IP68 pump construction with an SS316 motor shaft and nitrile seals for bilge spaces that stay wet.
  • 29 in pump lead, plus 20 ft of 16-gauge wire in the kit, gives more room when the switch panel sits away from the bilge.
  • Minimum water level of 10 mm helps the pump pull the bilge down lower before water is left behind.
Installation and setup

This kit is intended for a 12V DC system and a manually controlled pump circuit. The included 2-way on/off switch gives you a straightforward helm or panel control, but the switch is not external ignition protected, so it should not be installed where that protection is required.

The discharge side is built around 3/4 in hose, with a 5 ft corrugated hose and matching thru-hull fitting included in the box. On boats where the bilge space is tight, the Mk2 layout is easier to work with than older pump designs because service access to the cartridge is simpler and the mounting arrangement is friendlier for retrofit work.

Compatibility and fit

This pump suits boats that use a 12V electrical system and need a compact, manually switched bilge pump in the 500 GPH range. It works well for smaller bilge compartments, secondary pump positions, and general bilge duty where a simple switch-operated setup is preferred over a more complex automatic system.

If you are replacing an older pump, the Mk2 range keeps retrofit-friendly mounting options for some earlier Tsunami Mk1 and Johnson L Series layouts. That can reduce drilling and rework when you are updating an existing installation.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
