Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 7765 is an L-Series solenoid switch rated for continuous duty and used for remote switching of medium-amp DC loads on 12V and 24V boats. It uses a 9-36V DC control circuit, carries 150A continuously, and is built as an SPST normally open solenoid with hermetically sealed contacts.
This is the kind of switch you use when the control point needs to be away from the load, such as a DC subpanel, thruster, windlass, or inverter feed. Continuous coil draw stays low at 0.13A on 12V systems and 0.07A on 24V systems, with 3.8A used when changing state, so it works well in circuits that may stay energized for long periods.
Key features
- 150A continuous rating, 225A for 5 minutes, and 600A cranking for 30 seconds
- 9-36V DC control circuit for 12V and 24V nominal systems
- SPST normally open contact form for remote ON/OFF control of DC loads
- Hermetically sealed contacts and no external coil suppression required
- Low continuous coil draw of 0.13A at 12V and 0.07A at 24V
- M8 terminal studs accept 5/16 in cable terminals, with 22 AWG tinned wire for the control connection
- Mounting holes sized for #10 or M5 fasteners
- Works with the Blue Sea Systems 8230 remote ON-OFF switch, sold separately
Compatibility and fit
The 7765 is for remote electrical control rather than a local manual disconnect at the device. Because the contact form is normally open, the circuit closes only when the solenoid is energized. That suits installations where a manual battery switch is already placed elsewhere in the system and the load needs its own remote switching point.
For cable fit, the main studs are M8 and take 5/16 in ring terminals. The control side uses 22 AWG tinned leads. The mounting footprint spans 3.18 in across the ears and 2.90 in front to back, which helps when space is tight near a panel, locker, or auxiliary load.
Installation and setup
This switch is commonly mounted close to the load circuit or distribution point so the high-current cable run stays short while the control switch is placed at the helm, nav station, or another convenient location. The built-in coil control circuit keeps heat and amperage draw down, which matters when the switch may remain closed for extended periods.
Check cable size, overcurrent protection, and terminal fit against the connected load and the M8 stud hardware. The unit mounts with #10 or M5 screws, so it is straightforward to secure on a bulkhead or panel surface that can handle normal onboard vibration.
Use on board
This model is a good match for boats that need remote switching for equipment that draws more current than a small dash switch should carry. It fits well on cruising boats, fishing boats, and service craft where the switching point and the load are in different parts of the vessel.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
