Overview
The Vimar Plana Series is a 6-module (2+2+2) cover plate with a 71 mm distance between centres for finishing off a matching Plana modular installation. It spans 222 mm wide by 80 mm high, with a low-profile depth around 9 mm, so it sits cleanly on bulkheads and interior panels where space is tight.
The plate is made from technopolymer (thermoplastic) and is halogen free. It uses clamp mounting and can be installed in horizontal or vertical orientation, depending on how the supporting frame is set up.
With an IP00 rating, it is intended for dry, protected locations. On a boat, that typically means cabins, saloons, nav stations, or inside enclosed consoles rather than areas that see spray, washdowns, or open-cockpit exposure.

- 6-module format (2+2+2) with 71 mm centre distance for Plana modular layouts

- Clamp mounting for a clean finish without visible screw heads on the face
- Mounting direction supports horizontal or vertical orientation
- IP00 rating for interior, protected installations
Variants
This cover plate is offered in a wide color and finish range. Color is the only variant option across the lineup.
Choices include neutral gloss tones, matt finishes, metallized and polished looks, multiple Reflex colors, and a white option with antibacterial treatment. The module layout and overall format remain the same within this 6-module, 71 mm configuration.
Compatibility and fit
This plate is meant for Vimar Plana installations that use a 6-module (2+2+2) arrangement with 71 mm centre spacing. Before ordering, confirm your existing support frame and inserts match the Plana system and that you are building a 6-module position rather than a 3M, 4M, or 8M layout.
If you are replacing an existing plate, check the overall footprint on the surface (222 x 80 mm) so it fully covers the opening and aligns with any cutout or cable ducting behind the panel.
Installation and setup
Installation is straightforward once the correct Plana support frame and modules are in place. After isolating power to the circuit, align the plate on the frame and press evenly until the clamp mounting seats fully.
On board, keep the mounting surface flat and solid so the plate does not flex with vibration. In high-traffic areas, a snug fit helps avoid edge lift and makes cleaning easier.
Use on board
This style of cover plate is a good match for refits where you are standardizing switch and control points across cabins and enclosed helm areas, or when you want a consistent finish around lighting, pumps, or accessory switching that is already built around the Plana modular system.
Maintenance and care
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh solvents that can mark the surface finish, especially on matt, metallized, polished, and Reflex colors.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
