Overview

The Garmin 010-12799-10 is a 10-inch magnetic protective cover that sits over compatible GPSMAP chartplotters when the display is not in use.

It helps keep salt spray, sun exposure, and dockside grime off the screen and bezel while the boat is at the slip, on the trailer, or stored. Because it attaches magnetically, you can pull it off quickly before powering up and get full access to the display.

Compatibility and fit

Compatible models: GPSMAP 8410, GPSMAP 8410xsv, GPSMAP 8610, and GPSMAP 8610xsv. The cover is shaped for these bezels, so similar looking 10-inch units from other series may not seat the same way.

Use and handling

Install the cover only when the chartplotter is powered off. Remove it before operating the unit so the screen stays visible and touch controls stay responsive.

Care in a marine environment

After a salty run, rinse with fresh water and let it dry before putting it back on the display for long periods. Keeping trapped moisture to a minimum helps prevent buildup around the edges of the screen.
