Overview
The Vimar Plana Series is a modular 1P 16AX 1-way switch range for flush-mounted AC switching points in protected interior spaces. Across the range, the switch is rated at 16AX 250 V~, supports optional exchangeable LED lighting for control or orientation, and is suitable for IP40 installations. The 1-module versions are 22.3 mm wide, while the 2-module versions are 44.8 mm wide. All versions are 49 mm high, 38.4 mm deep, and require 24 mm built-in depth.
This is a practical fit for cabin switch panels, galley joinery, heads, and other interior bulkheads where the switch stays out of direct spray. The body is halogen-free thermoplastic, the connection is by screw terminal, and the unit snaps into the Plana modular system with a replaceable button.
Key features
- 1P 16AX 250 V~ one-way switch for standard on and off control on AC circuits
- Optional exchangeable LED lighting for control or orientation
- Screw terminal connection with flush mounting and snap fastening
- IP40 rating for sheltered interior locations
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with glossy white, glossy silver, or white finish with antibacterial treatment depending on variant
- Available in 1-module and 2-module formats to match the panel opening and plate layout already in place
Variants
This switch is offered in several configurations within the Plana range.
Across these variants, the switching function stays at 1P 16AX 250 V~ with optional lighting, screw terminals, flush mounting, and IP40 protection. What changes between versions is the visible finish, whether the white surface includes antibacterial treatment, and whether the switch occupies 1 module or 2 modules.
- VM14001.SL: Silver finish, 1 module. This version keeps the narrower 22.3 mm width and suits layouts built around a single-module switch position.
- VM14001: White finish, 1 module. This keeps the same narrower 22.3 mm format in standard white for Plana interior panels.
- VM14001.2.SL: Silver finish, 2 modules. This wider 44.8 mm body matches 2-module openings where the panel layout calls for a broader switch format.
- VM14001.2: White finish, 2 modules. This has the same 44.8 mm width in white for installations already arranged around a 2-module layout.
- VM14001.AB: White finish with antibacterial treatment, 1 module. This keeps the narrower 22.3 mm format and adds a treated surface for interior touchpoints that are handled often.
Installation and fit
The switch mounts flush and uses engage snap fastening, which helps when panel space is tight and a neat front finish matters. The 24 mm built-in depth is worth checking during refits, especially in furniture panels, liners, or service spaces with limited clearance behind the faceplate.
Because protection is IP40, this range makes more sense inside the cabin or in other covered areas than on open decks or washdown zones. It is a good match for boats and yachts already using Vimar Plana modules, and for refits where the finish or module width needs to stay consistent across the panel.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
