Overview
The Jabsco 6050 Series is a bronze AC motor pump unit for self-priming fluid transfer where a higher-capacity utility pump is needed at the dock, in a service area, or on a boat with suitable AC power available.
This flexible impeller pump uses a bronze body, a nitrile impeller, a lip-type shaft seal, and 1 inch NPT internal ports. It delivers approximately 23 GPM (87 L/min) at 10 ft (3 m) total head and uses a 3/4 HP, 1725 RPM, single-phase motor rated for 115/230 Vac, 60 Hz operation.
The 6050 Series is useful for bait tank circulation, washdown, and dockside utility pumping, as long as the installation matches the motor enclosure and the liquid being pumped is suitable for the nitrile impeller. The motor is not explosion proof and the pump must not be used with gasoline, thinners, solvents, or flammable vapors.
Key features
- Bronze pump body with a nitrile flexible impeller for general transfer work in marine and service environments.
- Self-primes from dry up to about 10 ft and up to about 22 ft when primed, with airtight suction plumbing.
- 1 inch NPT internal ports make hose and plumbing connections straightforward for utility pump installations.
- 3/4 HP AC motor runs at 1725 RPM with thermal overload protection and an 8 ft cord with grounded plug.
- 115/230 Vac, single-phase, 60 Hz motor rating, with the unit wired for 115 Vac operation.
- Recommended liquid temperature range for the supplied nitrile impeller is 50°F to 180°F (10°C to 83°C).
- Continuous operation should stay at or below 20 psi discharge pressure to protect pump life.
- Replaceable wearplate and serviceable impeller help keep the pump maintainable over time.
Variants
The 6050 Series is offered in two motor enclosure configurations. Both variants share the same bronze pump construction, nitrile impeller, 1 inch NPT internal ports, 3/4 HP motor rating, and 115/230 Vac AC power format.
The key difference is the motor enclosure. This affects where the pump should be placed on board or at the dock, especially around ventilation, moisture exposure, and general protection from the surrounding space.
- 6050-0003: Open drip proof motor enclosure. The open motor enclosure allows airflow through the motor, so the pump should be placed in a dry, ventilated location away from spray, splash, and washdown exposure.
- 6050-0013: Totally enclosed fan cooled motor enclosure. The enclosed motor frame reduces direct exposure of internal motor components while the external fan handles cooling, which makes placement more flexible in utility spaces that still keep the AC motor properly protected.
Electrical and installation notes
This is an AC pump unit, not a 12V or 24V DC pump. It belongs on a properly protected AC circuit, and wiring or voltage changes should be handled by a qualified installer who can confirm the circuit, grounding, overload protection, and local marine electrical requirements.
The pump may be mounted in any position without loss of efficiency, though pump-head-down vertical mounting is commonly used when a vertical layout is needed. Suction lines must be airtight for the pump to self-prime, and the unit depends on the pumped liquid for impeller lubrication.
Use and care on board
For marine use, this pump makes the most sense where AC power is available and a portable or fixed utility pump is needed for bait tank circulation, washdown, or transfer jobs. It is a practical fit for dockside service, workboats, and larger vessels that already have suitable AC power and space for a motor-driven pump.
Do not run the pump dry for more than 30 seconds. After use with corrosive or dirty fluids, flushing with clean water helps protect the impeller, wearplate, and internal pump surfaces. In freezing weather, the pump should be drained by loosening the end cover.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
