Overview
The Attwood Marine 1-1/2 inch deck fill is a stainless steel fill fitting for boats that need a clearly marked deck access point for either gasoline or fresh water systems. It is built for 1-1/2 inch I.D. hose and uses a 3-1/4 inch long fill neck, which helps when fitting through thicker deck laminates or raised mounting areas.
The flush cap sits low on the deck and has a slotted top for use with a separate key. An O-ring helps seal the cap against water intrusion, and a stainless steel beaded chain keeps the cap attached during fueling or filling. The highly polished 316 stainless steel alloy finish suits exposed deck locations where spray, washdowns, and weather are part of normal use.
Key features
- Fits 1-1/2 inch I.D. hose for common marine fuel and water fill installations.
- 3-1/4 inch long fill neck gives extra reach through thicker deck laminates.
- Enhanced 316 stainless steel alloy construction with a highly polished finish for exposed deck mounting.
- Flush slotted cap includes an O-ring to help keep the cap watertight when closed.
- Stainless steel beaded chain keeps the cap secured to the fitting during use.
- Uses a 1-7/8 inch installation hole, 3 inch flange size, and #10 fasteners.
- Gasoline version requires bonding wire installation to help prevent sparking when a nozzle is inserted, in line with USCG and ABYC H-24 fuel fill practices.
Variants
This deck fill range is offered in two marked configurations for different onboard systems.
The hose size, fill neck length, installation hole size, flange size, cap style, and stainless steel construction are consistent across the confirmed configurations. The visible imprint and color coding change so the deck fill can be matched to the correct tank or fill line.
- 66406-5: Imprint Gasoline. This version is marked for gasoline fill use and is color coded red, which helps separate the fuel fill from nearby water or waste fittings on deck.
- 66408C1: Imprint Water. This version is marked for water fill use and is color coded blue, making it easier to identify the fresh water fill during dockside service.
Installation and fit
This fitting is intended for deck-mounted fill points connected to 1-1/2 inch I.D. hose. Check the hose routing, tank connection, deck thickness, and available clearance under the mounting area before installation. The 1-7/8 inch cutout and 3 inch flange should be matched against the existing deck opening when replacing an older fill.
For gasoline installations, the bonding wire requirement is an important part of the job, not an optional detail. The fitting should be installed as part of a compliant fuel fill system with compatible marine fuel hose, proper clamps, and a vented tank arrangement suitable for the vessel.
Use cases on board
This deck fill is a practical match for owners replacing a worn or unmarked fill fitting, refitting a cockpit or side deck fill, or keeping fuel and water access points clearly identified. The flush cap and polished stainless finish work well on exposed deck areas where a low-profile fitting is preferred.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team.
