Overview
The Vimar 8000 Series is a 3-module mounting frame for flush or surface installation with Vimar 09968, 09973, and 09974 boxes. It mounts with screws, accepts inserts from the back, and can be installed horizontally or vertically. The frame is black thermoplastic, so it works as the structural support behind the cover plate without adding bulk to the finished panel.
On a boat, this is the piece that keeps a 3-module Vimar 8000 switch or outlet point aligned inside a cabin panel, service area, or other interior electrical position where the correct rectangular box is already in place. It is a frame only, not a mounting box, and it is not intended for round 60 mm junction boxes, wall duct systems, subfloor duct boxes, or 35 mm DIN rail setups.
Key features
- Fits Vimar 09968, 09973, and 09974 flush or surface mounting boxes
- 3-module frame with horizontal or vertical mounting orientation
- Screw-fixed support with rear insert mounting
- Black thermoplastic construction
- Made for Vimar 8000 modular devices, with standard and special module versions available
- Not for round 60 mm boxes, wall duct systems, subfloor duct boxes, or 35 mm DIN rail mounting
Variants
This product is offered in two 3-module configurations.
Across both versions, the box compatibility, mounting method, orientation, color, and thermoplastic body stay the same. The change is the module format, so the right version depends on whether the installation uses the standard 3-module arrangement or the special 3-module arrangement.
- VM08531: 3 modules, standard module format. This is the standard frame layout for Vimar 8000 installations built around the regular 3-module arrangement.
- VM08531.S: 3 modules, special module format. This version is used where the installation is set up for the special 3-module arrangement and the matching special-module front configuration.
Compatibility and fit
Before ordering, check the box reference behind the panel and confirm whether the inserts you are using follow the standard or special module format. The frame is sized for the Vimar 09968, 09973, and 09974 box family, so fit should be checked at the box level first, then at the module layout.
This frame suits refit work and replacement jobs where an existing Vimar 8000 position needs a new support behind the visible plate. It is a good match for boat interiors that already use this series and need a 3-module point kept in the same footprint.
Installation and setup
The frame mounts with screws and the modules are inserted from the back, so access behind the cover plate area matters during assembly. In a marine panel, that makes it useful in places where wiring is already routed to a rectangular back box and the final device layout needs to stay clean and correctly aligned.

We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
