Overview
The Vimar Plana Series is a flush-mounted USB socket connector for 1-module Plana installations where you need a clean USB connection point in a protected interior space on board. The body is halogen-free thermoplastic, the connection uses screw terminals, and the insert measures 22.3 x 49.0 x 41.4 mm with IP20 protection.
On a boat, this type of insert makes sense at cabin panels, enclosed helm areas, chart tables, and other dry locations where modular Vimar devices are already being used. It does not have a dust cover or hinged lid, so it is better matched to sheltered mounting positions than exposed deck or washdown areas.
Key features
- 1-module Plana insert with a 22.3 x 49.0 x 41.4 mm body size
- Flush-mounted format for built-in panel installation
- Screw-terminal connection with strain relief at the rear
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with a glossy visible finish
- IP20 rating for protected interior locations
- Available in white or silver to match surrounding Plana switchgear
Variants
This product is offered in two finish options within the same Plana USB socket connector format.
Across both variants, the mounting method, 1-module size, dimensions, screw-terminal connection, strain relief, and IP20 protection stay the same. The visible change is the front finish and color.
- VM14345.SL: Color Silver with a glossy lacquered finish. It changes the appearance of the insert while keeping the same installation footprint behind the panel.
- VM14345: Color White with a glossy finish. It suits panels where the rest of the Plana trim and electrical accessories are already in white.
Compatibility and fit
This insert belongs to the Vimar Plana range and uses a 1-module layout. It is a practical match when the surrounding panel or switch frame is already based on Plana modular devices and you want the USB connection to sit flush with the rest of the installation.
Because the unit is rated IP20 and has no protective cover, it is better suited to cabins, salon bulkheads, enclosed helm consoles, and other dry interior mounting positions. For open cockpits, exposed dashboards, or places that see regular spray, a weather-protected alternative is the safer fit.
Installation and use on board
The rear screw terminals and built-in strain relief help keep wiring controlled in compact panel spaces. Check the available clearance before ordering, as the device depth is 41.4 mm.
This is a good match for refit work or new interior panels on boats that already use Vimar Plana devices and need a USB connection point that looks integrated rather than added later.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
