Overview
The Vimar PLANA S-Video socket connector is a 4-pin modular insert for bringing an S-Video connection into a flush-mounted panel. It uses a one-module format and measures 22.3 mm wide, 49 mm high, and 37.6 mm deep.
For boat refits or interior AV panels, this is the kind of insert that keeps an older video connection fixed and tidy instead of leaving a loose lead at the helm, in the cabin, or at a media point. The body is thermoplastic and halogen-free, and the IP20 rating places it in dry interior spaces rather than exposed areas that see spray, washdowns, or direct weather.
Key features
- 4-pin S-Video socket for legacy analog video connections
- Flush-mounted PLANA insert that sits neatly in a modular switch or outlet layout
- One-module body size for compact panel integration
- Thermoplastic construction that is halogen-free
- IP20 protection rating for protected interior locations
- Compact dimensions of 22.3 x 49 x 37.6 mm when rear clearance matters behind a bulkhead or console
Variants
This product is offered in two finish options.
The listed difference between the two versions is the visible front color and surface treatment. Both are presented as PLANA 4-pin S-Video inserts for flush-mounted installation.
- VM14347.SL: Silver front with a glossy lacquered finish. It keeps a closer visual match with silver PLANA trim and panels where a metallic look is already used.
- VM14347: White front with a glossy untreated finish. It keeps a closer visual match with white PLANA trim and lighter interior panels.
Compatibility and fit
Check that your support, frame, and cover plate belong to the Vimar PLANA system and that the onboard source and display equipment use a 4-pin S-Video connection. This insert is meant for a built-in connection point, so it suits a finished panel installation rather than a loose adapter-style setup.
Installation and placement
Because the unit is flush-mounted, rear clearance matters as much as the front opening. The 37.6 mm body depth is the number to confirm behind the panel, especially where cable bends are tight or where several modules share the same console or bulkhead space.
Use on board
This socket makes the most sense on boats that still carry S-Video in a cabin entertainment system, an enclosed helm console, or another protected interior electronics area. It is a straightforward match for owners who want a clean built-in finish and need the connection to stay accessible without leaving cabling exposed.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
