Overview
The Vimar Supernova Series is a German standard 2P+E axial plug range for portable 16 A, 250 V AC connections, offered in black and white. It uses a straight body with axial cable entry, so the cable exits in line with the plug. That layout works well on extension leads, movable equipment, and onboard appliances where you want the cord to run cleanly behind furniture, panels, or service spaces.
This plug uses screw terminals and a thermoplastic housing, with IP20 protection for protected interior areas. It is a practical fit for cabins, galleys, utility spaces, and other dry locations on board where the connection needs to stay serviceable and easy to route, but it is not intended for exposed deck areas or washdown zones.
Key features
- German standard 2P+E plug format for use with matching socket outlets
- Rated at 16 A and 250 V AC for portable power connections within the circuit limits
- Axial cable entry keeps the cord in line with the plug body, which helps where side clearance is tight
- Screw terminal connection supports straightforward cable termination during assembly or replacement
- Thermoplastic body with straight insertion and IP20 protection for dry, protected onboard spaces
Variants
This product is offered in two configurations that share the same electrical format and connection style.
The visible change across the range is the housing color. The listed specifications remain the same in both versions, including German standard 2P+E format, 16 A and 250 V AC rating, axial cable entry, screw terminal connection, straight insertion, thermoplastic construction, and IP20 protection.
- VM00230: black finish. This version blends in more easily with dark cable runs, utility spaces, and service areas where a lower-contrast look is preferred.
- VM00230.B: white finish. This version sits more naturally with lighter cabin liners, galley fittings, and interior trim.
Compatibility and fit
This plug is meant for systems and appliances that use the German standard 2P+E connection pattern and a 250 V AC supply. On board, it suits portable leads and equipment kept inside the boat or in other covered spaces where the connector is protected from direct spray and weather.
It is a sensible match for owners and installers working on cabin power accessories, movable appliances, or replacement cord ends where a straight cable exit is easier to manage than a side-entry plug. As with any AC connector on a boat, the cable type and conductor size should match the load and the rest of the installation.

We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
