Overview
The B&G 000-14538-001 is a HALO24 solid-state radar dome with Doppler target highlighting and a 20 m cable for networked marine installations. It delivers Dual Range viewing with a maximum range scale up to 48 nautical miles, while the close-range picture can refresh with a full 360-degree sweep every second when running at 60 RPM.
For planning the mount and cable run, the dome measures 610 mm (24 in) in diameter and stands 225 mm (8.9 in) high. Power is supplied from 12 V or 24 V DC systems across a 10.5 to 31.2 V input range, with a recommended 5 A fuse and operating power that varies by mode and range.
Key features
- VelocityTrack Doppler processing highlights targets moving toward or away from your boat for quicker threat recognition in traffic and reduced visibility.
- Dual Range operation to watch near-range collision risks and farther-range weather or navigation targets at the same time, with range scales from 100 m up to 48 nm.
- Solid-state pulse compression radar with Instant On operation and a 25 W peak power output.
- 60 RPM close-range operation up to 2 nm for fast updates when maneuvering in tight waterways.
- Ethernet 100 Base-T networking for connection to compatible multifunction displays and onboard networks.
- 12 V and 24 V DC system support with 10.5 to 31.2 V input, reverse polarity protection, and a recommended 5 A fuse.
- IPX6 water resistance with an operating temperature range of -25 C to +55 C for open-boat and offshore exposure.
- 24 in dome footprint with a 3.9 degree nominal horizontal beam width for target separation that stays readable at common coastal ranges.
- Integrated LED accent lighting for scanner visibility at the mount location when enabled in the display settings.
Installation and setup
Mount the dome where it has the clearest 360-degree view, away from masts, exhaust outlets, and other antennas that can create shadow zones or interference. A higher mounting position increases radar horizon, but it also increases the close-in area where targets can be masked, so it is worth balancing height with the kind of boating you do most.
The base is drilled for four M8 fasteners, and the dome is rated for high wind loading up to 100 knots, so the mounting surface and backing structure should be stiff and well supported. Keep at least 0.10 m (0.33 ft) separation between the antenna and people during operation, and avoid mounting locations that see strong vibration.
Electrical and system integration
This radar is built for 12 V and 24 V DC boats and is typically protected with a 5 A fuse or breaker on the positive feed. It supports power control wiring so the radar can be switched by a dedicated switch or controlled as part of a display-driven power bus, depending on how your helm electronics are wired.
Networking is via Ethernet (100 Base-T). Plan your network layout so the radar cable and any extensions stay within typical run limits for marine Ethernet cabling, and protect connectors from water intrusion with proper routing, drip loops, and strain relief.
Use cases on board
HALO24 is a good match for sailboats, fishing boats, and smaller powerboats that want fast close-range updates in harbors and channels, plus the ability to keep an eye on distant squalls or navigation targets on longer legs. It also supports MARPA target tracking when paired with a compatible display and the required onboard sensors.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt off the dome as part of normal washdowns and clean it with mild soapy water using a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and avoid solvents, which can damage the radome surface and seals over time.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
