Overview
The Vimar Supernova Series S17 2P+E 16A 250V 90 degree Italian plug is a right-angled portable plug for AC equipment and extension leads that use the Italian S17 standard. It has a 2P+E layout, a 16A and 250V rating, screwed terminals, and an IP20 thermoplastic body for protected indoor locations.
The 90 degree cable entry helps when a straight plug would push the cable too far out from a bulkhead, locker side, or cabin outlet area. On board, that matters in tight runs behind furniture, inside service spaces, or on portable leads that need to sit closer to the surface once connected.
This plug suits boats, caravans, and shore side setups that already use Italian-standard sockets. It is an AC plug, not a 12V or 24V DC connector, and it belongs in dry interior spaces rather than exposed deck or washdown areas.
Key features
- Italian S17 plug format with 2P+E configuration for systems built around this socket standard
- Rated 16A and 250V for AC applications
- 90 degree cable entry keeps the cable run tighter to the outlet area
- Screwed terminal connection for field wiring and secure conductor clamping
- Thermoplastic body that keeps weight low and handles everyday handling well
- IP20 protection for protected indoor use
- Available in black or white without changing the main electrical specification
Variants
This product is offered in two finish options with the same plug format and electrical rating.
The verified difference between the variants is color. The S17 pattern, 2P+E layout, 16A and 250V rating, right-angled entry, screwed terminal connection, thermoplastic construction, and IP20 protection stay the same across both versions.
- VM00212: Black. Black keeps the plug understated on dark cables, extension leads, and service areas where a lower-contrast finish is preferred.
- VM00212.B: White. White suits lighter interiors and makes the plug easier to spot on white cords, cabin joinery, or utility spaces.
Installation and fit
The right-angled entry is useful where the cable needs to turn immediately after the plug body, which can reduce strain from tight bends near the outlet. The screwed terminal connection also makes it suitable for field wiring when the conductors are prepared correctly and the termination is tightened properly.
Before fitting it on board, check that the receiving socket and the rest of the AC circuit match the Italian S17 standard and the 16A and 250V rating. Because the housing is IP20, it is better suited to the cabin, galley, utility locker, or dockside equipment bag than to any area exposed to spray or rain.
Compatibility and onboard use
This plug makes sense for portable cabin appliances, extension leads, and service cords on boats that use Italian-standard AC outlets. It is a good match where a compact cable exit at the plug end helps keep the connection neater and less awkward in confined spaces.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
