Overview
The Vimar Supernova Series is a German/French S31 2P+E axial plug range for portable 250V AC connections that need a straight cable exit. Across the range, the plug is rated at 16A and 250V, uses screw terminals, and has an IP20 thermoplastic body with a straight plug format.
On board, this type of plug makes sense where portable AC equipment or replacement leads need a German/French standard connection in a protected area. The IP20 rating means it belongs in dry interior spaces such as cabins, lockers, or service areas rather than exposed deck locations or washdown zones.
Key features
- German/French S31 2P+E plug format for portable 16A, 250V AC connections
- Axial cable entry keeps the cable running straight out of the back of the plug body
- Screw-terminal connection for wired assembly and service work
- Thermoplastic construction with IP20 protection for dry, protected use areas
- Available in black or white while keeping the same core electrical and connection format
Variants
This product is offered in two color configurations.
The variation is the housing color. The 16A 250V rating, German/French S31 format, axial cable entry, straight body format, screw-terminal connection, and IP20 protection remain the same across the listed versions.
- VM00231: Color Black. This version blends more easily with darker socket areas, cable runs, and trim.
- VM00231.B: Color White. This version suits lighter interiors and is easier to spot in lockers, cabins, and service points.
Installation and fit
This is a straight plug with axial cable entry, so the lead exits in line with the plug rather than at a right angle. That matters when you are checking rear clearance behind the plug and how the cable will run through a locker, bulkhead opening, or service space.
The screw-terminal layout is well suited to replacement work and portable lead assemblies handled by a qualified installer. Before ordering, confirm that the mating socket uses the same German/French standard and that the connection point is in a dry location because this plug is rated IP20.
Use on board
This range is a good match for boats that carry portable AC appliances or service leads with a German/French style connection and need a straight-entry plug rather than a 90 degree body. It fits better in cabins, galleys, chart tables, and other protected spaces than in open areas where spray, rain, or washdowns are part of normal use.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
