Overview
The Vimar Supernova Series is a range of German/French 2P+E plugs with a 90 degree cable entry for portable AC connections where space behind the outlet is limited. Each version is rated at 16 A and 250 V, so it suits standard single-phase equipment and extension leads that use this plug format.
These plugs use a screw-terminal connection inside a thermoplastic body and carry an IP20 rating. On board, that makes them a practical choice for dry interior spaces such as cabins, galleys, enclosed technical areas, or protected service leads where the cable needs to exit neatly without pushing straight out from the socket.
The right-angle layout is useful when an outlet sits close to furniture, paneling, or a bulkhead. It keeps the lead closer to the wall and helps reduce the bend right at the point where the cable leaves the plug.
Key features
- German/French 2P+E plug format for equipment and portable leads that use this connection standard
- 16 A, 250 V rating for standard AC circuits within the plug's stated capacity
- 90 degree cable entry helps in tight spaces behind appliances, panels, and furniture
- Screw-terminal wiring suits replacement work and custom lead termination
- Thermoplastic housing with IP20 protection for indoor or otherwise protected locations
- Available in black or white with the same core electrical and installation format
Variants
This product is offered in two color configurations.
The listed variants keep the same 2P+E German/French format, 16 A and 250 V rating, 90 degree cable entry, screw-terminal connection, thermoplastic body, and IP20 protection. The visible difference between them is the housing color.
- VM00241: black housing. This finish sits discreetly with dark cable runs, utility spaces, and service areas where the plug is mostly out of sight.
- VM00241.B: white housing. This finish works well in lighter interiors and visible installation points where a brighter appearance is preferred.
Installation and fit
This plug is intended for portable installation use and is a good match when replacing a damaged plug or terminating a loose cable on equipment that uses the German/French pattern. Because the connection is made with screw terminals, careful conductor preparation and secure tightening matter for a clean, dependable fit.
The IP20 body is suited to dry, protected spaces rather than exposed deck areas or locations that see regular spray, washdown, or standing moisture. For marine use, it makes more sense in enclosed living spaces and protected technical zones than in open-weather positions.
Use on board
This range fits boat owners, electricians, and yards that need a replacement plug for interior AC appliances, chargers, or portable leads in protected areas. The right-angle cable exit is especially useful where sockets are mounted near cabinetry or in places where a straight cable run would stick out too far.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
