Overview
The Vimar Supernova Series is a portable 2P+E SICURY socket outlet for European plug formats, rated at 16A and 250V. It accepts 2P 2.5A Europlugs, 2P and 2P+E 10A and 16A Italian standard plugs, and 2P+E 16A German standard plugs, which makes it a practical choice when the onboard power setup has to handle more than one common plug pattern.
This outlet uses a straight axial cable entry and screw terminal connection, so it fits well in portable leads and movable power assemblies where the cable needs to exit in line with the body. The housing is made from halogen-free thermoplastic and carries an IP20 rating, which puts it in dry, protected locations rather than exposed deck areas or spaces that see regular spray.
Key features
- Universal 16A, 250V outlet for 2.5A Europlugs, 10A and 16A Italian plugs, and 16A German plugs
- Straight axial cable entry for portable cord sets and inline power assemblies
- Screw terminal connection for secure conductor termination during assembly or replacement
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with IP20 protection for sheltered interior use
- SICURY socket format with protective contact; with 2P+E 16A 250V French standard plugs, the earth connection is not realized
Variants
This outlet is offered in two finish options within the same Supernova range.
The confirmed difference between the variants is color. The electrical rating, socket format, straight cable entry, screw terminal connection, IP20 protection, and thermoplastic construction stay the same across both versions.
- VM00225.B - Color White. This finish suits light interiors and visible service points where the outlet is meant to blend in with white panels or cable runs.
- VM00225 - Color Black. This finish works well where the outlet will sit against dark trim, black cable assemblies, or equipment areas that use darker hardware.
Compatibility and fit
This outlet is useful on boats that see mixed European plug standards across chargers, galley appliances, service tools, or portable accessories. The universal format reduces the need to keep swapping between different outlet types when the connected equipment changes from one plug pattern to another.
It is still worth checking the plug standard on the equipment before installation. The outlet accepts several European formats, but a 2P+E 16A 250V French standard plug does not realize the earth connection here, so that plug type should not be treated as fully equivalent.
Installation and setup
The straight cable entry makes this outlet a sensible fit for inline assemblies where the cable needs to leave the body without a bend at the outlet. Screw terminals keep the wiring method familiar for refit work, replacements, and custom portable leads assembled by a qualified installer.
Because the enclosure is IP20, this outlet belongs in protected interior spaces such as a cabin, galley, navigation area, or other dry service location. It is a better match for portable onboard power distribution inside the boat than for open deck positions, cockpit coamings, or any area exposed to washdowns and spray.
Use on board
This outlet makes sense for owners, yards, and marine electricians putting together portable extension leads, service cords, or interior power accessories where more than one European plug type may show up. It also works well in refit jobs where a straight cable exit helps keep the assembly tidy and easy to route.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
