Overview
The Victron Energy ASS030536011 is a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle for adding wireless VictronConnect access to compatible Victron products with a VE.Direct port. It lets you view live data from equipment such as BMV-70x battery monitors, Phoenix VE.Direct inverters, and MPPT solar charge controllers on iOS, Android, or macOS devices without installing a fixed display at the helm or electrical panel.
On a boat, this is useful when the battery monitor, inverter, or solar controller is mounted inside a locker, behind a panel, or in an electrical compartment where direct viewing is inconvenient. The dongle connects with its 1.5 m VE.Direct cable and is powered by the connected Victron device, drawing about 1 mA when not connected over Bluetooth and about 2.5 mA when connected.
Through VictronConnect, the dongle can show battery status, solar panel power, warnings, alarms, errors, and other available data from the connected device. It also supports setup and firmware update tasks, making it a practical service tool for owners who already run Victron gear on board.
Key features
- Adds Bluetooth access to compatible Victron products that have a VE.Direct port.
- Works with VictronConnect on iOS, Android, and macOS devices.
- Displays live information such as battery status, solar panel power, warnings, alarms, and errors when supported by the connected device.
- Supports Victron products such as BMV-700 and BMV-702 battery monitors, Phoenix VE.Direct inverters, and BlueSolar MPPT charge controllers.
- Includes a fixed 1.5 m VE.Direct cable for direct connection to the host device.
- Uses very low current from the connected device, with about 1 mA draw when idle and about 2.5 mA during a Bluetooth connection.
- Two status LEDs show Bluetooth and error status for quick checks during installation or troubleshooting.
- Clear PIN code button helps reset access when a phone or tablet has been changed.
Installation and setup
Installation is straightforward: connect the dongle directly to the VE.Direct port on a compatible Victron product, then power up that product so the dongle receives power. The blue and red LEDs give status feedback during startup, connection, and firmware update checks.
After the dongle appears in VictronConnect, the connected Victron product can be monitored, configured, or updated from the app. The fixed 1.5 m cable should be routed so the dongle sits in a practical Bluetooth location, while still staying protected from spray, loose gear, and strain on the VE.Direct connector.
Compatibility and fit
This dongle is for Victron products with a VE.Direct port. It is especially useful on installations with non-Bluetooth Victron equipment where a phone or tablet is preferred over a separate remote display.
It is not for GX devices or GlobalLink devices, and it is not compatible with Windows PC use. For a marine electrical system, confirm that the target Victron device has an available VE.Direct port before ordering.
Use cases on board
This is a good match for cruising boats, fishing boats, and sailboats where battery, inverter, or solar data needs to be checked from the cabin, nav station, or nearby deck area within Bluetooth range. It also helps during maintenance because readings and settings can be accessed without opening panels repeatedly.
For boats with solar charging, house battery monitoring, or a small Victron inverter, the dongle keeps key electrical information close at hand while leaving the hardware safely mounted where it belongs.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
