Overview
The Victron Energy Lithium Battery Smart 12,8V & 25,6V is a LiFePO4 battery range for 12V and 24V DC power systems on boats, including house banks, service banks, inverter systems, and alternator-charged installations. These batteries use lithium iron phosphate chemistry and are available in 12.8V and 25.6V nominal voltage configurations, with Bluetooth monitoring through the VictronConnect app.
Each battery includes integrated cell balancing plus temperature and voltage control through Victron BTV wiring. The battery must be used with a compatible external Victron BMS, such as VE.Bus BMS, VE.Bus BMS V2, smallBMS, Smart BMS 12/200, Smart BMS CL 12/100, or Lynx Smart BMS, depending on the size and layout of the electrical system.
For marine installations, this range is most relevant when upgrading from lead-acid to lithium and the vessel already uses, or is being built around, Victron charging and monitoring equipment. The IP22 protection class means the battery belongs in a dry battery compartment, not in an exposed cockpit locker or a wet bilge area.
Key features
- LiFePO4 chemistry for a service battery bank with high usable energy and lower weight than comparable lead-acid capacity.
- 12.8V and 25.6V nominal voltage options for matching common 12V and 24V DC marine electrical systems.
- Integrated cell balancing, temperature monitoring, and voltage monitoring through the battery BTV system.
- Bluetooth connection with VictronConnect for checking cell status, voltages, temperature, settings, and firmware from a phone or tablet.
- Series, parallel, and series-parallel installation support for building larger battery banks, with up to 20 batteries in one system when installed within Victron limits.
- Requires a compatible external Victron BMS so chargers and loads can be controlled when battery limits are reached.
- Round-trip efficiency of 92 percent across the range, which helps reduce wasted charging energy from solar, alternator, shore charger, or inverter-charger sources.
- Charge voltage range of 14V to 14.4V for 12.8V batteries and 28V to 28.8V for 25.6V batteries, with 14.2V and 28.4V recommended settings.
- Discharge operating range of -20°C to +50°C and charge operating range of +5°C to +50°C.
- IP22 protection class for protected indoor mounting in a dry, ventilated battery space.
Variants
This battery range is offered in voltage configurations for different DC system layouts. The voltage selection is the key difference shown here, and it should match the vessel battery bank architecture, charging equipment, inverter voltage, DC distribution, and BMS plan.
The Bluetooth monitoring, integrated cell balancing, need for a compatible Victron BMS, LiFePO4 chemistry, and VictronConnect setup workflow are consistent across the Lithium Battery Smart range.
- Voltage 12,8V: This version matches 12V DC battery banks and charging systems set up with the correct Victron lithium charge parameters. It is commonly used for 12V house banks on cruising boats, fishing boats, and smaller power systems where the existing DC distribution remains 12V.
- Voltage 25,6V: This version matches 24V DC battery banks and charging systems set up with the correct Victron lithium charge parameters. It suits vessels using a 24V service bank for larger DC loads, inverter systems, or longer cable runs where lower current at the same power level is useful.
Compatibility and system integration
This battery is not a standalone drop-in battery for every boat. It needs to be planned as part of a lithium system with a compatible Victron BMS, properly configured chargers, correct cable sizing, suitable fusing, and load disconnect or charge disconnect control where required.
The battery works especially well in a Victron-based installation using inverter-chargers, solar chargers, battery monitors, and system monitoring, because VictronConnect and the related BMS options keep setup and daily checks in the same ecosystem.
Installation and mounting
Install the battery in a dry battery compartment where it is protected from direct spray, standing water, and accidental contact with conductive objects. The power terminals use threaded inserts, and the BMS connection uses male and female cables with M8 circular 3-pole connectors.
Most models in the range can be mounted upright or on their side, but not with the terminals facing down. The 12.8V 330Ah model must remain upright, so final mounting position should always be checked against the exact capacity model being installed.
Use on board
This range is a strong match for boat owners building a controlled lithium house bank for refrigeration, lighting, electronics, pumps, autopilot loads, inverter use, or extended time away from shore power. It also fits refit projects where solar, alternator charging, and shore charging need to work together under clear battery management.
For best results, pair the battery with marine-grade installation practices, including protected cabling, suitable ventilation, clean terminal connections, and charger settings that match the selected voltage and capacity.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
