Overview

The TACO Marine GS-400 is a pair of Grand Slam 400 top-mount outrigger bases for offshore fishing boats using 1-1/2" TACO Tele-Outriggers. It is built for hardtop and T-top installations where longer outrigger poles create extra torque and whip, especially on large center consoles that run offshore at speed.

This mount uses cast stainless-steel and machined aluminum construction, a heavy-duty base and arm, and a locking head that lets the crew set the outrigger position with control. The arm has 180 degrees of swing and allows horizontal rotation from under the T-top, so adjustments can be made from below rather than from above the hardtop.

The GS-400 is supplied as a pair with two heavy-duty backing plates and has a listed pair weight of 45.34 lb with backing plates. It is a practical upgrade for boats that need more support at the top mount, a cleaner operating position, and compatibility with TACO 1-1/2" aluminum or carbon fiber outrigger poles.

Key features

  • Uses 1-1/2" TACO Tele-Outriggers, including compatible aluminum and carbon fiber pole options

  • Horizontal rotation from under the T-top keeps day-to-day adjustments accessible from below
  • Cast stainless-steel and machined aluminum construction for strength in a saltwater fishing environment
  • Heavy-duty base and arm help manage torque and whip from longer outrigger poles
  • Locking head holds the outrigger position once set
  • Includes two heavy-duty backing plates for through-top installation support
  • Sold as a pair with a listed pair weight of 45.34 lb with backing plates
  • Backed by a 3-year limited warranty
Installation and fit

The GS-400 mounts through the boat’s hardtop or T-top and should be installed where the top structure can properly support outrigger loads. Because outrigger mounts see side load, vibration, and pole whip while trolling, backing plate placement and access below the top are important parts of the fit check before drilling.

The included backing plates help spread load across the mounting surface. On existing Grand Slam installations, confirm the current hole pattern, backing access, and available clearance under the top before replacing or upgrading the mounts.

Pole compatibility and use on board

This mount is made for 1-1/2" TACO Tele-Outriggers. It works well for offshore trolling setups where the crew wants a top-mount outrigger system that can be rotated and adjusted from under the hardtop during fishing days.

The GS-400 is a good match for large center consoles and sport fishing boats that already run TACO outriggers or are being rigged with 1-1/2" TACO poles. It is especially useful where longer poles add leverage at the mount and the installation needs a base with more support than a light-duty top mount.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
