Overview

The Victron Energy ASS030537010 is a VE.Bus Smart Dongle that adds Bluetooth monitoring and control to compatible Victron inverter/chargers and inverters with a VE.Bus port. It works through the VictronConnect app, giving you local access from a phone or tablet to key inverter/charger information, operating status, warnings, alarms, and basic control functions such as on, off, charger-only mode, and AC input current limit adjustment.

This dongle also measures battery voltage and temperature, so it can act as a voltage and temperature sense device for the inverter/charger or for VE.Smart Networking. Its 8 to 70 VDC operating input range suits common onboard battery systems, including 12V, 24V, and 48V installations, while the IP20 housing is meant for a dry, protected electrical space rather than an exposed cockpit, deck, or bilge location.

Key features
  • Adds Bluetooth access to Victron VE.Bus inverter/chargers and inverters for local monitoring through the VictronConnect app.
  • Allows basic inverter/charger control from the app, including on, off, charger-only mode, and AC input current limit adjustment when supported by the connected system.
  • Shows AC and DC parameters, device status, warnings, alarms, and errors for quicker checks during shore power use, anchoring, or generator charging.
  • Measures battery voltage and temperature for charge compensation and battery monitoring use in compatible Victron systems.
  • Supports connection to a single inverter/charger or multiple inverter/chargers arranged in parallel or 3-phase systems.
  • Works with VE.Smart Networking to share battery voltage and temperature data with compatible Victron devices.
  • Operates from 8 to 70 VDC with very low current draw, less than 9 mA at 12V depending on Bluetooth and VE.Smart Networking status.
  • ABS housing in matte black with IP20 protection for installation inside a dry electrical cabinet, nav station panel area, or battery compartment kept away from spray.
Compatibility and fit

The VE.Bus Smart Dongle is for Victron Multis, MultiPlusses, MultiPlus-II, MultiGrid, MultiGrid-II, Quattros, and Phoenix Inverters with a VE.Bus port. It is a practical match for boats that already use a Victron inverter/charger and need local app access without adding a full GX display just for basic monitoring and control.

When used with an inverter rather than an inverter/charger, charger-related functions are not available. If a Digital Multi Control panel is connected to the same system, that panel takes priority for on, off, charger-only, and current limit control, while the dongle continues to handle monitoring and voltage and temperature sensing functions.

Installation and setup

The dongle connects to the VE.Bus port of the inverter/charger with a UTP RJ45 cable, which is not included. The included red and black battery wires connect to the removable terminal block and the battery, with the red positive lead using an inline fuse. For battery temperature sensing with the internal sensor, the dongle should be mounted on or near the battery in a protected location.

An optional external battery temperature sensor can be used instead of the internal sensor. The unit can be installed with adhesive mounting or screws, depending on the location and access available. Before use, the VictronConnect app, the dongle firmware, and the inverter/charger firmware should be kept up to date so the system can use the supported functions properly.

Electrical and system integration

In a typical marine installation, this dongle helps with quick checks before leaving the dock, while changing shore power limits at a marina, or when confirming inverter/charger status at anchor. The Instant Readout feature can show important inverter/charger data from the VictronConnect device list without opening a full connection to the product.

The voltage measurement helps the connected inverter/charger, or compatible VE.Smart Network devices, compensate for voltage losses during charging. The temperature measurement supports temperature-based charging adjustments when the system uses the dongle as its battery sensing source. In systems with a GX device and a CANbus smart battery, smart battery data can take priority over the dongle data.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
