• 1199DP1CHR: 1-3/4 inch hook length. The shortest option works for tight cabin joinery where the door and keeper mounting points sit close together.
• 1199DP2CHR: 2-1/4 inch hook length. This mid-short size gives a little more reach while keeping the hardware compact on small doors and panels.
• 1199DP3CHR: 3 inch hook length. The added length helps when the door edge and the keeper location are set farther apart.
• 1199DP4CHR: 4 inch hook length. The longest option in this group gives the most reach for wider gaps or offset mounting surfaces.

Installation and fit

Before drilling, hold the hook and keeper in place with the door fully open or in the position where it needs to be retained. Check that the hook can drop into the keeper without binding, and confirm that the door has enough clearance to move freely when the hook is released.

Use #6 screws suited to the mounting surface and the thickness of the panel. On thin fiberglass or soft wood trim, careful pilot holes help prevent cracking, splitting, or loose fasteners over time.

Use on board

This hook is a good match for small cabin hardware jobs where a door or panel needs to stay put during normal movement at the dock or underway. It is most appropriate for protected interior or semi-protected locations rather than constantly wet deck areas.
