Overview
The Vimar VMV55001 is an IP44-rated surface-mount junction box for protecting wiring connections where you need splash protection and quick access for service.
It has a round body with a 65 mm diameter and 35 mm depth, which helps when you are fitting it behind panels or inside lockers where space is tight. The cover is a blind, snap-closed style, so you can open it for inspection without tools in most installations.
Four trimmable step membrane inlets support conduit/tube diameters of 20 mm or 25 mm. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 450 V, and the specified operating temperature range is 0°C to 60°C.
Key features
- IP44 protection level for locations exposed to dust and splashing water
- Compact footprint with a 65 mm diameter and 35 mm depth for confined mounting areas
- Surface mounting on walls or ceilings for straightforward retrofits and clean routing
- Snap-closed blind cover for fast access during troubleshooting and re-termination
- Four trimmable step membrane inlets to suit cable and conduit entry needs
- Supports 20 mm and 25 mm tube diameters for common marine conduit runs
- RAL 7035 grey finish for a neutral look inside technical spaces
Installation and setup
Mount the box on a flat surface where the cover can open fully and where the inlets can be oriented to keep water from pooling around cable entries. Trim each step membrane gradually so the cable or conduit passes through snugly, then keep bends gentle to avoid stressing terminations inside the box.
Because this is a junction box, plan enough slack to re-terminate in the future and leave room for connectors or terminal blocks you may be using inside. After wiring, confirm the cover is fully snapped closed around the entire perimeter.
Compatibility and fit
This box is meant for surface mounting and routing smaller accessory wiring runs or control wiring where a protected splice point is needed. Conduit/tube sizing is 20 mm or 25 mm, and the four entry points make it easier to bring in a feed and branch circuits without overcrowding a single side.
With an IP44 rating, it suits areas that see spray or condensation but are not subject to direct, sustained water exposure. For locations that can flood or take pressurized washdowns, use a higher protection level enclosure instead.
Use cases on board
Common installs include behind a helm panel, inside a console, in a cockpit locker that stays mostly dry, or on an interior bulkhead where wiring transitions from a trunk line into smaller branches.
This is a good match for boat owners and installers who want a small junction point with splash protection and a clean surface-mount layout. It also fits refits where you are adding new accessories and need a tidy place to manage splices without opening up larger panels.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
