Overview
The Vimar VMR01870 is a 230 V AC MASTER dimmer module for DIN-rail electrical panels, used to dim a single lighting output inside a Vimar By-me Plus installation. It handles common mixed loads you see on boats with shore power or inverter-fed AC lighting, including 40 to 500 W incandescent, 40 to 300 VA electronic transformers, 10 to 200 W CFL, and 3 to 200 W LED loads.
It mounts on a 60715 TH35 DIN rail and takes up 4 standard modules (17.5 mm each), so it fits cleanly in a structured AC distribution cabinet. The front LED indicator helps with quick status checks during commissioning, and an internal protection fuse adds a layer of protection if a fault develops on the circuit.
Key features
- 230 V AC, 50/60 Hz dimming module for one lighting output in a bus-controlled installation
- Load support range covers incandescent (40 to 500 W), electronic transformers (40 to 300 VA), CFL (10 to 200 W), and LED (3 to 200 W), including LED electronic power supply units
- DIN-rail installation on 60715 TH35, with a 4-module footprint (4 x 17.5 mm)
- IP20 protection rating for installation inside a protected electrical enclosure
- Onboard LED indication and an integrated protection fuse for service troubleshooting
Compatibility and fit
This is a 230 V device, so it belongs on vessels with 230 V AC distribution (shore power, generator, or a 230 V inverter system). It is not a 12 V or 24 V dimmer, and it is not meant for low-voltage LED strip circuits unless those strips are driven from a suitable 230 V dimmable power supply that stays within the listed load range.
Before ordering, match the connected load type and total wattage to the ranges above, and confirm the lamps or drivers are intended for dimming. When LED loads flicker or drop out at low levels, the cause is usually the driver or lamp, not the module, so compatibility checks up front save time during install.
Installation and setup
Plan for a dry, protected mounting location in the AC panel or automation cabinet, since the housing is rated IP20. Leave room for wiring bend radius and panel airflow, and keep it away from areas that regularly see spray, washdown, or condensation.
Because this is mains voltage equipment, installation should follow marine electrical practices for AC systems, including correct upstream protection and enclosure grounding. If the protection fuse opens, replace it only with the same type and rating specified for the unit.
Use on board
This module makes sense on yachts and larger boats where cabin or saloon lighting is run on 230 V and controlled from a centralized automation panel. It is also a practical spare for maintaining an existing By-me Plus installation, where matching the original module footprint and load behavior matters during a refit or service call.
Product lifecycle
This item is listed as a spare part and is marked to be discontinued, which is worth factoring in if you maintain a boat with a standardized automation spares kit.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
