Overview

The Vimar VMP19001 is a 1-way (1P1T) Arké switch rated 16AX at 250 V~ for controlling a single circuit from one location. It is lightable, so it can be paired with a compatible Arké illumination accessory when you want a locator or status light on the rocker.

On AC lighting circuits it supports up to 200 W for self-ballasted lamps in line with IEC 60669-1:2017, which matters when you are switching modern lamp loads that have higher inrush current. The grey Arké finish is a common fit for interior panels on boats where the switch stays protected from direct spray.

The front assembly is rated IP40, so it belongs in dry, enclosed areas such as cabins, nav stations, or inside a protected electrical console rather than open cockpits and washdown zones.

Key features
  • 1-way, single-pole switching (1P1T) for one circuit from one location
  • 16AX, 250 V~ rating for onboard AC circuits within the switch rating
  • Max 200 W for self-ballasted lamps (IEC 60669-1:2017)
  • Lightable rocker when used with the matching illumination accessory
  • Replaceable button for easier cosmetic refresh without disturbing the wiring
  • Screw terminal connections for a secure clamp on conductors in vibrating panels
  • IP40 front protection suited to interior, protected mounting locations
Compatibility and fit

This is a 1-module device in the Vimar Arké system, intended to be installed behind an Arké cover plate as part of a modular layout. It is a good match when you are standardizing interior switchgear across a refit or keeping a consistent look between different cabins and service spaces.

Allow for a built-in depth of about 25 mm, with an overall device depth around 36.8 mm behind the plate. The front face is roughly 44.8 mm wide by 49 mm high, which can help when checking clearances in tight helm pods and bulkhead panels.

Installation and wiring notes

Wiring is via screw terminals. For marine installs, take the time to strip conductors cleanly, seat them fully, and route wiring so there is no constant pull on the terminals when the boat is pounding. If the panel sees heavy vibration, it is worth rechecking terminal tightness after initial use.

This device is rated for 250 V~. If you are using it in 12 V or 24 V DC systems, treat it as part of a properly engineered DC control scheme where switching method and load type are accounted for, often by switching a relay or contactor rather than carrying higher DC loads directly.

Use on board

It fits well for AC cabin lighting, a utility area light, or a control input that feeds a relay panel while keeping a matching Arké look across the interior. It is a practical choice for builders and refitters who want consistent modular switching in dry, protected spaces.

Maintenance and care

Wipe the rocker and surrounding plate with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh solvents that can haze plastics, and keep the installation dry by maintaining the integrity of the box, plate, and any nearby gasketed panels.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
