Overview
The Vimar VMP16155.B is a 2-pole, 2-way momentary push button module with directional arrows and a central OFF position, finished in white.
It is rated 10 A at 250 V~ and uses two change-over contacts across six terminals, which supports up/down control logic in a compact, single-rocker format. The front is IP40, so it is intended for protected locations rather than exposed areas that see spray or washdowns.
In an onboard electrical system, this style of switch is commonly used as a control input for relays, contactors, or automation modules, especially when the load current should not run through a small panel switch.
Key features
- Momentary ON-OFF-ON action with directional arrows for clear up/down operation at the panel
- 2-pole switching with two change-over contacts on six terminals for flexible control wiring
- 10 A, 250 V~ rating for general switching and control circuits
- IP40 front protection for interior or sheltered console installations
- Vimar IDEA modular format with snap-in fastening for flush-mounted frames and plates
- Matt white thermoplastic face with a label space and RAL 9001 color reference
Installation and setup
This device mounts as a flush module and fastens by snapping into the matching IDEA support frame. Plan for the body depth behind the panel and route conductors so the module can seat fully without stressing the terminals.
The switching section provides six terminals. Before wiring, map the circuit so each direction is correct and the center position is OFF. For motors, windlasses, and actuators, this switch is typically used to drive a relay or contactor circuit so higher current stays in the power distribution side.
Compatibility and fit
The module format is sized for the IDEA system and is approximately 24.8 mm wide, 50.1 mm tall, and 43.6 mm deep. It is intended to be used with compatible IDEA frames and cover plates; confirm the module count of your plate and the available clearance inside the console or bulkhead cavity.
Use cases on board
This switch is a practical match for helm and cabin panels where you want an up/down momentary command, such as trim tab control via a controller, raising and lowering an electric hatch through relays, or sending direction inputs to a lighting or automation module. It also fits well when you are matching existing Vimar IDEA styling across a refit.
Maintenance and care
Wipe the face with a soft, damp cloth and avoid harsh solvents that can haze thermoplastics. Periodically check that the module remains firmly engaged in the frame and that terminal screws are secure, especially in areas that see vibration.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
