Overview
The Victron Energy Current Transformer 100A:50mA for MultiPlus-II Wire-end is an external AC current sensor for Victron MultiPlus-II and MultiGrid-II inverter/charger systems. It uses a 100A:50mA transformer ratio and a wire-end connection, giving installers a direct lead option for control cabinets, electrical panels, and onboard power systems where the current sensor needs to be placed away from the inverter/charger.
In a marine installation, this current transformer helps the Victron system read current on an external AC conductor without routing that conductor through the inverter/charger itself. That makes it useful for boats using shore power, generator input, or energy storage setups where PowerControl, PowerAssist, or self-consumption control depends on accurate external current sensing.
Key features
- 100A:50mA current transformer ratio for external AC current sensing in compatible Victron systems.
- Wire-end version from the CTR12xxxx range for installations that need bare lead termination rather than a jack connector.
- Compatible with Victron MultiPlus-II and MultiGrid-II inverter/charger systems for PowerControl, PowerAssist, and self-consumption applications.
- Available with 1 m, 5 m, and 20 m wire lengths to suit short cabinet runs or longer cable paths across an onboard electrical layout.
- Allows AC current to be measured on an external conductor without sending that conductor through the inverter/charger.
Variants
This product is offered in three wire-length configurations. The current transformer function, 100A:50mA ratio, wire-end connection style, and MultiPlus-II / MultiGrid-II application remain consistent across the range.
The length difference helps match the sensor to the physical layout of the boat, especially when the measured AC conductor, distribution panel, and inverter/charger are not mounted close together.
- CTR120000500 with 1 m wire length. This length suits compact installations where the current transformer is mounted close to the Victron equipment or within the same electrical area.
- CTR120000550 with 5 m wire length. This option gives more routing room for panels, lockers, or equipment spaces where the sensor and inverter/charger are separated by a moderate distance.
- CTR120002050 with 20 m wire length. This length supports longer cable paths across larger boats or distributed AC layouts where the sensing point is well away from the inverter/charger location.
Installation and setup
The current transformer is placed around the AC conductor that the system needs to monitor, then wired back to the compatible Victron inverter/charger input for current sensing. It is a practical fit for shore power and generator management layouts where the electrical system needs to limit input current or supplement incoming AC power during short demand peaks.
For clean onboard integration, plan the wire length before installation and route the lead away from unnecessary strain, sharp edges, and high-heat areas. The 1 m version works well in close-mounted electrical boards, while the 5 m and 20 m versions give more freedom when the AC distribution point and inverter/charger are installed in different spaces.
Compatibility and fit
This wire-end current transformer belongs with Victron MultiPlus-II and MultiGrid-II systems that use external current sensing. It is a good match for boat owners, marine electricians, and system builders working on inverter/charger installations where shore power limits, generator loading, and energy flow need to be managed from a measured AC conductor.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
