Overview
The Vimar VM19001.0 is a 1-pole, 1-way switch mechanism rated 16AX at 250 V~ for flush-mounted Arké installations.
This is the internal mechanism that is completed with a compatible 1-, 2- or 3-module button, which keeps the look consistent when you are matching other Arké plates and controls on board. The mechanism is lightable and can be paired with an optional exchangeable LED for control and orientation lighting.
It is IP40 and built for protected interiors, so it belongs in dry locations like cabins, the saloon, or inside an electrical cabinet that stays out of spray and washdowns.
Key features
- 16AX, 250 V~ rating for switching AC loads, including self-ballasted lamps up to 200 W
- 1P 1-way (on/off) switching for straightforward control from a single location
- Lightable mechanism that supports an optional exchangeable LED for locator or orientation use
- Flush-mounted, modular format that completes with 1-, 2- or 3-module Arké buttons
- Screw terminal connections for a solid, vibration-resistant wire clamp when properly tightened
- Halogen-free thermoplastic construction
- IP40 protection for interior panels and spaces that are kept dry
Compatibility and fit
This mechanism is part of the Vimar Arké modular system and is meant to be finished with a matching Arké button and faceplate hardware from the same family. Allow for a built-in depth of 25 mm behind the panel, and verify clearance in the wall box or mounting enclosure before final assembly.
Electrical rating is 250 V~. On boats, that typically aligns with 120 V or 230 V AC distribution fed by shore power or an inverter output. It is not a 12V or 24V DC battery switch and should not be used as a main DC isolation device.
Installation and setup
Plan the location so it stays protected from direct water exposure and condensation. Isolate AC power at the source, confirm the circuit is de-energized, then land conductors in the screw terminals with clean stripping and full insertion so the clamp grabs copper, not insulation.
Once the mechanism is seated and secured in the flush-mount box, finish the front end with the appropriate Arké button configuration, then test operation under load before closing up the panel.
Use on board
This switch mechanism is a practical match for boats using an Arké switching layout in cabins, saloons, or nav station cabinetry where AC circuits are controlled locally. Typical uses include interior AC lighting groups or other modest AC loads on a branch circuit where a simple on/off wall-style control is preferred.
It is also a good fit for refits where you want a consistent Arké look across multiple cabins without mixing switch families.
Maintenance and care
Keep the front end dry and clean, and avoid mounting in places that see hose-downs or salt spray. During seasonal service, re-check that terminals remain tight and that there is no heat discoloration or arcing at the connections.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
