Overview
The Vimar VM14784 is a 4-module table mounting box in white for building a clean, surface-mounted switch or outlet point on board where a flush box is not practical. It mounts horizontally and is sized at 142.50 mm wide, 80.00 mm high, and 67.60 mm deep, which helps when you are checking clearance on a nav table, helm side panel, or bulkhead.
This enclosure is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry interior areas where it will not see spray or washdowns. The housing is plastic and halogen-free with a matt finish in RAL 9003 (white), and it includes a cable entry opening for bringing conductors in from behind or from a routed cable path.
It is supplied as the box only and is meant to be completed with the matching mounting frame and cover plate for a 4-module setup.
Key features
- 4-module table mounting box for horizontal installations
- IP20 protection level for dry interior locations
- Halogen-free plastic housing with a matt white finish (RAL 9003)
- Cable entry opening for straightforward wire routing into the enclosure
- Overall size: 142.50 mm (W) x 80.00 mm (H) x 67.60 mm (D)
- Supplied as the box only and completed with a compatible mounting frame and cover plate
Compatibility and fit
This box is intended for a 4-module arrangement using Vimar modular switching components and the matching frame and plate. If you are replacing an existing installation, confirm the module count and series so the frame and cover plate match the devices you are fitting.
Use the overall dimensions to check that the enclosure will not interfere with drawers, lids, throttle panels, or chart table hinges. The 67.60 mm depth is also worth checking if you need room for wire bends behind the devices.
Installation and setup
Mount the box on a stable, flat surface and route wiring so it is protected from chafe and vibration. Where conductors pass through the cable entry, add strain relief and edge protection so movement over time does not damage insulation.
Since IP20 is intended for indoor use, place it where it stays dry and away from direct exposure to salt spray. If the mounting surface is part of an exterior structure, seal fastener holes appropriately to prevent moisture from tracking into the panel core.
Use on board
This style of table box makes sense for refits and new installations where you want a neat control point at a nav station, inside a protected helm area, or on an interior bulkhead without cutting a large recess for a flush box.
It is a good match for boats that need tidy cable management and a finished look for modular switches, outlets, or controls in interior living and working spaces.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
