Overview

The Vimar VM14627 is a 2-module mounting frame with screws for panel mounting in the Plana series. It lets you install Plana modular devices into a cutout on a console, bulkhead, or furniture panel where a standard recessed box is not being used.

The frame can be mounted horizontally or vertically to match your layout. Overall size is about 130 x 30 x 20 mm, with a weight around 0.017 kg, which keeps it practical for thin panels and tight spaces behind the surface.

Once the frame is fixed to the panel, the modules install from the front and the finished look comes from the Plana cover plate you pair with the device combination.

Compatibility and fit

Compatible with Vimar Plana modular devices and matching Plana cover plates. Confirm the panel cutout and the available space behind the panel are suitable for a 2-module support, especially if wiring will need a tight bend radius inside a shallow console.

In the Plana module system this support is 1 module wide and 2 modules tall, and it can be rotated to match how you want the two devices arranged on the panel.

Installation and setup

Cut the panel opening, seat the frame from the front, and tighten the fixing screws evenly so it sits flat without distorting the panel. Install the Plana modules from the front, then fit the correct Plana cover plate for the finished surface.

On boats, keep cable runs supported behind the panel so the terminals on the fitted modules are not carrying harness weight or movement.

Materials and care

The thermoplastic frame is low maintenance. During refits or routine checks, inspect the fixing screws and re-tighten if needed, especially on panels that see frequent vibration.

Use on board

This support is a good match when you are adding a small switch group, outlet module, or control point to a helm panel, nav station, or cabin furniture panel and you want a clean Plana finish in a compact cutout.
