Overview
The Victron Energy Current Transformer 100A:50mA for MultiPlus-II is an external current sensing transformer for Victron MultiPlus-II and MultiGrid-II inverter/charger installations.
It is used where the inverter/charger needs external current measurement to support PowerControl, PowerAssist, and self-consumption optimization. In a marine electrical system, that makes it relevant for boats using a Victron inverter/charger with shore power, generator input, or an onboard AC system where current measurement needs to happen away from the main unit.
This CTR11 series version uses a jack connector and is offered with 1 m, 5 m, and 20 m cable lengths, so the transformer can be matched to the distance between the monitored conductor and the MultiPlus-II or MultiGrid-II location.
Key features
- 100A:50mA current transformer for external current sensing in Victron MultiPlus-II and MultiGrid-II systems.
- Supports PowerControl and PowerAssist functions when installed as part of the compatible Victron system.
- Helps optimize self-consumption in systems that use external current sensing.
- CTR11 series configuration uses a jack connector for connection to the compatible Victron unit.
- Available cable lengths of 1 m, 5 m, and 20 m cover short equipment-panel runs as well as longer routing paths on board.
Variants
This product is offered in multiple cable-length configurations for different installation layouts.
The current transformer rating, compatible Victron product family, and jack connector style are consistent across these CTR11 variants. The cable length is the option that changes, which affects how far the transformer can be placed from the MultiPlus-II or MultiGrid-II connection point.
- CTR110000500: Cable length 1 m. This short cable works for compact electrical panels where the monitored conductor and the Victron unit are mounted close together.
- CTR110000550: Cable length 5 m. This mid-length option gives more routing flexibility when the AC wiring point is separated from the inverter/charger location.
- CTR110002050: Cable length 20 m. This longer cable suits installations where the sensing point is farther away, such as larger boats with separated AC distribution and equipment spaces.
Installation and setup
The transformer should be installed as part of a compatible Victron MultiPlus-II or MultiGrid-II system, following the wiring layout required for external current sensing. The cable length should be selected before installation so the run can be routed cleanly without strain at the connector or the sensing point.
On boats, keep the cable path protected from chafe, heat, and service access areas where it may be pulled or pinched during maintenance. A tidy route through the electrical space also makes later inspection easier.
Compatibility and fit
This current transformer is intended for Victron MultiPlus-II and MultiGrid-II inverter/charger systems that use a 100A:50mA external current transformer. It is not a universal AC sensor for every inverter or monitoring display, so the connected Victron unit and system design should match this transformer type before installation.
The product is a good match for marine power systems where Victron inverter/charger control needs current information from a specific point in the AC installation, especially when the sensing location is not directly beside the inverter/charger.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
