Overview
The Vimar VM14618 is an 8 (4+4)-module mounting frame for the Plana system, made to fit Vimar V71318 and V71718 flush boxes and the 14788 table mounting box.
It mounts flush and fixes with screws from the front, which helps keep modules aligned before the cover plate goes on. The frame supports horizontal and vertical mounting direction, with a 4-module horizontal by 2-module vertical grid.
Key features
- Holds up to eight Plana modules in a 4+4 frame footprint.
- Compatible with Vimar V71318 and V71718 flush mounting boxes, and the 14788 table mounting box.
- Flush-mounted frame with front-side fixing; mounting screws are included.
- Works in horizontal or vertical mounting direction for flexible panel layouts.
- Thermoplastic construction that keeps its shape in vibration-prone installations.
- Not suitable for 60 mm round junction boxes and not suitable for 35 mm DIN-rail mounting.
Compatibility and fit
This frame is for rectangular box installations and does not include a built-in installation box, so the correct box needs to be in place before you start. Plan your cutout and cover plate around an 8-module (4+4) Plana layout.
Because it is not meant for 60 mm round boxes or DIN-rail mounting, it is mainly used in panels and bulkheads where Plana flush or table boxes are already part of the build.
Installation and setup
Position the frame in the compatible box, square it up, and secure it with the supplied screws from the front. After the frame is fixed, install the Plana modules from the front side, then finish with a matching Plana cover plate sized for an 8-module frame.
In damp areas, keep the assembly behind the finished plate and avoid mounting locations that see direct spray or standing water.
Materials and corrosion resistance
The frame is made from thermoplastic, so it will not corrode. For marine installations, the surrounding details still matter: use clean cable routing, proper strain relief, and sealing where moisture can track into the box.
Use cases on board
This frame is a good fit when you are building a multi-gang Plana station such as grouped lighting controls, accessory switches, or mixed power and data modules, as long as the specified Vimar boxes are being used.
It also makes sense for refits where you want consistent module spacing across cabins and helm panels with a flush finish.
What’s included

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
