Overview
The Vimar VM14015.0 is a 2-pole, 1-way switch mechanism rated 16 AX at 250 V AC for switching an AC circuit from a flush-mounted Plana modular panel. It breaks two conductors together, which is useful on boats where you want a clear, single-action isolation for an AC branch circuit rather than switching only one leg.
This mechanism is lightable and supports optional LED orientation/control lighting, with an exchangeable LED module. It is built for a modular arrangement and is completed with a compatible 1, 2, or 3-module button and the matching Plana frame and cover plate, so the visible finish is determined by the parts you pair with it.
With an IP40 protection level and a built-in depth of 24.0 mm (38.7 mm overall depth), it belongs in protected interior locations such as the cabin, nav station, or inside a dry electrical panel, not in areas exposed to spray or washdowns.
Key features
- 2-pole, 1-way switch mechanism for switching and isolating an AC circuit with one rocker action
- Electrical rating: 16 AX at 250 V AC
- Flush-mounted modular format (1 module) for Vimar Plana system layouts
- Screw terminal connections for secure wiring terminations
- Optional illumination for control and orientation with an exchangeable LED light source
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with a glossy, untreated surface
- IP40 protection for dry, interior installations
- Body size: 22.3 mm wide, 49.0 mm high, 38.7 mm deep (24.0 mm built-in depth)
Compatibility and fit
This is the switch mechanism only. It is meant to be completed with the appropriate Plana button (1, 2, or 3-module) and installed into the matching Plana modular support and cover system. The mechanism body is green, while the visible rocker and plate finish depend on the Plana parts selected for the final installation.
Installation and setup
Plan the install like any onboard AC device: isolate shore power and inverter feeds, verify the circuit is dead, and confirm the upstream breaker is sized for the load. Land conductors cleanly in the screw terminals and leave enough service loop so vibration does not work the wiring loose over time. In spaces that see humidity swings, mount it in a protected box or panel area to keep condensation and salt air away from the terminals.
Use on board
This switch is a solid match for interior AC loads up to its rating, such as cabin lighting circuits, outlets on a lightly loaded branch, or dedicated small appliances where you want a 2-pole on and off at the wall. The optional orientation lighting helps when you are moving through the boat at night without turning on overhead lights.
Maintenance and care
During routine electrical checks, confirm the mechanism remains firmly seated in its support and re-check terminal tightness if the circuit has seen heavy use or noticeable vibration. Keep cleaning gentle and avoid solvent-based products inside the switch area to prevent contamination of contacts and plastics.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
