Overview
The Vimar VM14010.0 is a Plana-series 1-pole, normally-closed (NC) push button mechanism rated 10 A at 250 V AC, and it accepts a locator or indicator light when paired with a compatible light module. In NC operation the circuit is closed at rest and opens while you press the button, then returns to closed when released.
This mechanism is meant for flush mounting in Plana modular plates and is completed with a 1-, 2- or 3-module button. With an IP40 protection rating, it belongs in protected interior locations such as a cabin switch panel, nav station, or inside a console, not in areas exposed to spray or washdowns.
Key features
- 1-pole NC momentary contact: circuit opens only while the button is pressed
- Electrical rating: 10 A at 250 V AC for circuits that stay within the switch rating
- Lightable mechanism that supports adding an indicator or locator light with a compatible light module
- Completes with 1-, 2- or 3-module Plana button to match common modular panel layouts
- Flush-mounted form factor with snap-in fastening for quick installation in the support
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with glossy white finish (RAL 9003)
- IP40 protection for dry, enclosed spaces behind a panel
- Compact size: 22.3 mm wide, 49.0 mm high, 38.7 mm deep
Compatibility and fit
This mechanism is part of the Vimar Plana modular system. It is intended to be finished with a matching Plana button and installed into the appropriate Plana mounting support and cover plate format for your panel.
Installation and wiring
Plan the function first: an NC push button is commonly used where the circuit should remain closed until someone presses the button, such as an alarm loop, interlock, or a control input that needs to open on command. For switching loads directly, confirm the load type and switching current are within the 10 A, 250 V AC rating and that your enclosure and wiring are suitable for the circuit on board.
Once installed, the engage snap fastening holds the mechanism in place. After a few trips, it is worth re-checking terminal tightness since boats see vibration and temperature swings.
Use on board
This is a good match for refits or new builds that already use Plana modules in interior panels and want a push button that keeps the panel tidy and stays easy to service. If the mounting spot is anywhere that regularly sees salt spray, rain, or washdowns, a sealed, higher-IP device is the better fit.
Maintenance and care
Keep the face and surrounding plate clean and dry, and avoid aggressive solvents that can haze glossy plastics. In technical spaces, a quick periodic check for moisture ingress and corrosion at the terminals helps prevent intermittent faults.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
