Overview
The Vimar VM13522 is an IP55 surface-mount enclosure for two Vimar 8000 Series standard modules in RAL 7035 grey. It is used to house compatible wiring devices where you want extra protection against spray and dust.
Because it mounts on the surface, it works well on bulkheads, consoles, and liners where there is no space for a recessed box. It also helps keep the installation more contained in areas that see frequent cleaning or occasional splashes.
The housing is non-metallic and insulating, which is useful around terminals and onboard wiring. IP protection depends on correct mounting and properly sealed cable entries for your specific location.
Key features
- IP55-rated enclosure for installs exposed to spray, washdowns, and airborne dust when correctly sealed
- 2-module capacity for Vimar 8000 Series standard modules
- Surface-mount format for bulkheads, consoles, and cabin panels without a recessed mounting box
- Non-metallic, insulating housing suited to marine electrical fit-outs
- RAL 7035 grey finish
Installation and setup
Mount the enclosure on a flat, stable surface so the sealing areas sit evenly. In high-vibration spots, back up thin panels and use fasteners that will not loosen over time.
Maintain the IP55 protection by using cable glands or grommets matched to the cable diameter and by sealing any fastener penetrations as needed for the mounting surface. Form drip loops on incoming cables so water does not track toward the enclosure.
Compatibility and fit
This enclosure is sized for two Vimar 8000 Series standard modules. Confirm that the devices you are fitting are the 8000 module format and that your faceplate and accessories are intended for protected, surface-mounted installations.
If your system uses a different Vimar family or a specialty module format, verify module size and the correct enclosure style before ordering.
Use on board
This style of enclosure is typically used for switches and outlets mounted in cockpits, flybridges, deck access areas, and utility spaces where a surface box is preferred over a flush-mount back box. It is also useful for refits where you want added protection without cutting into finished panels.
This product is a good match for boats already using Vimar 8000 Series devices and needing a 2-module, surface-mounted enclosure for wet or dusty zones.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt residue off the exterior when practical and avoid aggressive solvents that can haze plastics. Periodically check that mounting screws stay tight and that any cable glands remain snug, especially after service work in the area.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
