Overview

The Vimar VM12331 is an IP55-rated Italian P30 2P+E socket outlet for 16 A, 250 V~ AC circuits.

It is meant for boats that use Italian-standard shore power and need a receptacle that can be mounted in exposed panels, lockers, and service areas where spray and washdowns are part of normal life. The P30 layout uses both lateral and central earth contacts to maintain a proper protective earth connection.

SICURY contact protection uses an internal shutter that closes when the plug is removed, which helps reduce accidental contact with live parts during routine use and maintenance.

Key features
  • Italian standard P30 socket pattern with lateral and central earth contacts (2P+E)
  • Electrical rating: 16 A, 250 V~
  • IP55 ingress protection for locations exposed to splashes and water jets
  • SICURY shutter mechanism helps prevent accidental contact with live parts when unplugged
  • Plastic construction with fully insulating materials
Compatibility and fit

This outlet is for Italian P30 plugs and will not accept other national plug types unless they share the same contact geometry. Confirm the plug standard used on your shore lead and onboard appliances before ordering.

IP55 protection depends on the full installation, including the correct enclosure, cover, and cable sealing. Plan the mounting location so the outlet is protected from standing water and direct stream impact from deck washdowns.

Installation and setup

Wire it as a standard 2P+E shore-power receptacle: line and neutral to the current-carrying terminals and earth to the grounding terminal. Use marine-grade conductors, strain relief, and cable glands that match your enclosure so movement and vibration do not load the terminals.

After installation, verify polarity and earth continuity, then test the outlet under load. On AC systems, work should be carried out with shore power isolated and protected by the correct breaker for the circuit.

Use on board

This style of outlet is commonly used at service points where a handheld tool, vacuum, or charger gets plugged in, such as inside a cockpit locker, at a deck service panel, or in a covered console. It is also a straightforward swap for refits where the boat already uses Italian P30 hardware and you want to keep compatibility.

Maintenance and care

Rinse salt residue from the exterior as needed, and periodically inspect the sealing surfaces and the shutter action so the outlet continues to close cleanly when unplugged. If the mounting area is repeatedly soaked, re-check gaskets and cable seals at the next service interval.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
