Overview
The Vimar VM12330 is an IP55 2P+E German-standard SICURY socket outlet rated 16A at 250V~ for protected, watertight installations. It is built for Vimar LINEA Classica protected and watertight enclosures and control units where you need a shore-power style outlet that can live in a damp, dusty, vibration-prone boat environment.
This is an AC outlet, not a 12V or 24V DC accessory. It is a good fit when your onboard system and onboard plugs match the German 2P+E format, and you want a cleaner install than using adapters. Plan your mounting space in advance; the overall body is about 6.8 x 8.3 x 6.5 cm.
Key features
- 16A, 250V~ rating for standard AC distribution circuits (shore power, inverter-fed outlets, or generator-fed outlets as applicable).
- German-standard 2P+E outlet format for matching European-style plugs without adapters.
- IP55 protection when installed in a compatible protected system with properly sealed cable entry and cover.
- SICURY protective shutter helps prevent accidental contact with live parts when the plug is removed.
- Plastic construction with full insulating materials for safer handling in tight spaces like lockers and control panels.
- Overall dimensions approximately 6.8 x 8.3 x 6.5 cm for layout and clearance planning.
Compatibility and fit
Match this outlet to the plug type used on board and in your cruising area. If your boat is wired around another standard, mixing outlet types usually leads to adapters and confusion at the dock.
Because it is rated for 250V~ and 16A, it belongs on the AC side of the boat and should be fed from a properly protected branch circuit, not from low-voltage DC runs.
Installation and setup
IP55 on a boat depends heavily on how it is installed. Use the correct LINEA Classica protected and watertight enclosure or panel system for the outlet, keep the cover and gasket surfaces clean, and seal cable entries so spray and dust cannot track into the box.
Terminate line, neutral, and earth cleanly and strain-relieve the cable so vibration does not work the conductors loose over time. On shore power circuits, upstream RCD/GFCI protection and correct breaker sizing are standard practice and make day-to-day use safer.
Use on board
This outlet makes sense in sheltered exterior areas, lazarettes, deck lockers, and service compartments where you want an AC connection point that is better protected than a standard interior socket. It suits boats already using Vimar LINEA Classica protected and watertight hardware and owners who want consistent outlets across refits and service panels.
Lifecycle note
This item is scheduled for discontinuation. Keeping a spare on board can make future maintenance simpler if you are standardizing a vessel or fleet on the same series.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
