Overview

The Vimar VM12202 is an IP55-rated 2-module surface enclosure for Vimar Linea 2M components. It gives you a protected housing when you need to mount Linea devices on top of a bulkhead or panel instead of cutting in a recessed box.

On a boat, IP55 protection is useful in spots that see spray, dust, and day-to-day wipe-downs, such as a pilothouse, a covered cockpit, or a utility area where moisture is part of normal life onboard. The insulating plastic body also helps when you are installing on insulated walls or mixed-material panels.

Key features
  • IP55 protection for electrical modules in areas exposed to spray and airborne dust
  • 2-module capacity for Linea 2M layouts where space is tight on a console or bulkhead
  • Surface-mount format for refits and finished panels where flush mounting is not practical
  • Insulating plastic enclosure suitable for installations on insulated surfaces
  • Made to pair with Vimar Linea 2M components for consistent fit and alignment
Compatibility and fit

This enclosure is sized for 2-module Linea 2M configurations. Before ordering, confirm your planned device layout is 2 modules and matches the Linea family you are using, especially if you are standardizing multiple stations around the boat.

Installation and setup

Surface mounting is straightforward on a flat, stable area with enough clearance for wiring behind the device. For marine installs, route cables so they are supported against vibration and seal any cable entry points with the right marine glands or sealing methods for your installation so water does not track into the back of the enclosure.

IP55 is intended for exposure to splashes and dust rather than submersion. If the mounting spot is in the direct path of washdown hoses or heavy green water, place it where it has some shielding or add a drip loop and extra sealing attention around entries.

Use cases on board

This enclosure makes sense for adding a small control point on a bulkhead, console side, or locker area where you want a surface-mounted, protected module position. It is a solid fit for owners and installers building out Linea stations in cruising boats where space is limited and the environment stays humid.

Maintenance and care

Wipe the enclosure with fresh water and a mild soap when needed, especially after salt exposure. Periodically check that the sealing surfaces remain clean and that cable entries stay tight, since small gaps are usually what let moisture work its way into electrical spaces over time.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
