Overview
The Vimar VM10337 is a rotary dimmer module for 120 V AC (50-60 Hz) lighting circuits, rated for 30-500 W incandescent or halogen loads and 30-300 VA ferromagnetic (magnetic) transformers.
It fits the Vimar LINEA Classica device format and gives you smooth control from a single knob, with a built-in locator/indicator that is visible in the dark. The module footprint is about 22 mm wide by 36 mm high, with an installation depth around 48 mm.
On board, this is a practical choice for fine-tuning cabin or saloon lighting on an AC circuit fed by shore power or an inverter. It is not a 12 V or 24 V DC dimmer, and it is intended for resistive loads and magnetic transformers rather than electronic drivers unless the specific load is confirmed compatible with this dimming type.
Key features
- 120 V AC, 50-60 Hz rotary dimmer control for AC lighting circuits
- Load range: 30-500 W incandescent and halogen lamps; 30-300 VA ferromagnetic transformers
- Rotary potentiometer control with a locator/indicator visible in darkness
- Use in dry, low-dust spaces with ambient temperature from -5 C to +35 C
- No radio interference suppression filter built in
- No mechanical isolation in the main circuit, so the load side should be treated as live unless the circuit is fully disconnected upstream
- Thermoplastic body with matte white finish (RAL 9001) for a clean match to classic interior panels
Compatibility and fit
This dimmer is part of the LINEA Classica device system, so it is meant to be paired with the correct LINEA Classica mounting hardware and cover plate for a finished installation. It is sized for flush mounting in a suitable wall or panel box and is commonly used in interior switch panels where you want lighting control at the point of use.
Pay attention to minimum and maximum connected load. With a 30 W or 30 VA minimum, very small lighting loads may not behave correctly, especially when dimmed low.
Installation and setup
The dimmer installs in series with the load on a 120 V AC circuit. It can be used in common switching arrangements so long as the wiring method matches the circuit type and stays within the unit rating.
When used with a ferromagnetic transformer, the dimmer connects on the transformer primary and the secondary load should remain connected. Transformer buzz around mid-dimming is normal for this load type. Avoid placing more than one dimmer in the same box and keep the unit away from direct heat sources.
Use appropriately sized conductors for the connected load and tighten terminal connections fully to prevent overheating. For any AC work on a vessel, isolate power at the breaker and follow marine electrical best practices.
Marine placement notes
This unit is intended for dry, low-dust spaces, which generally means interior cabins, enclosed salons, or protected helm areas. For open cockpits or locations that see spray or washdowns, mount it inside a sheltered panel or enclosure so salt air and moisture are kept off the device and wiring.
Leave enough room behind the panel for cable routing and strain relief so vibration does not work the conductors loose over time.
Use cases on board
This dimmer is a good fit for boats already using Vimar LINEA Classica devices on 120 V AC circuits and running incandescent, halogen, or magnetic-transformer lighting. It is commonly used to bring down cabin lighting at night to reduce glare while still keeping enough light for moving around and reading charts.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
