Overview
The Vimar VM10270 is a 1-pole, normally open, cord-operated push button rated 10 A at 250 V~ for built-in installations. It is a momentary contact device, so it only closes the circuit while the cord is pulled and returns to open when released.
On boats, this style of pull-cord control is commonly used where a switch needs to be reachable from a doorway, berth, or inside a locker while the wiring stays protected behind the panel. The pull cord length is 1.5 m, and the unit body measures 22 mm wide by 36 mm high with a 37 mm depth behind the mounting surface.
Key features
- 1P NO momentary action, closing the circuit only while the cord is pulled
- Rated 10 A at 250 V~ for switching within the stated limits
- 1.5 m cord for convenient reach from overhead or recessed locations
- Built-in mounting with engage (snap) fastening for a secure fit in the panel
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with an untreated matte finish
- White finish (RAL 9001) that matches traditional LINEA Classica interiors
- Compact body size: 22 mm W x 36 mm H x 37 mm D
Installation and setup
This is a built-in device intended to sit behind a compatible faceplate, with the mechanism snapping into place. Confirm you have the correct mounting box and cover format used on your boat before ordering, and verify there is at least 37 mm of clear depth behind the mounting surface.
Route the cord so it pulls straight without rubbing on sharp edges or hatch corners. In lockers and machinery spaces, keeping the cord away from moving gear and heat sources helps prevent fraying and unwanted loads on the switch.
Electrical and load considerations
Because the contact is normally open, it is often used as a control input for relays, contactors, bells, and low-current control circuits. For pumps, fans, or other inductive loads, switching through an appropriately sized relay is a common approach to reduce stress on the contacts.
Wire the circuit with proper overcurrent protection and isolation for the system you are working on, and keep terminations inside a protected enclosure if the location can see spray or condensation.
Use on board
Typical placements include heads and shower compartments, hanging lockers, under-berth storage, and service access panels where a pull-cord action is easier to reach than a wall-mounted rocker. It is also a practical choice where you want the switch body hidden behind a clean faceplate while keeping the control point within arm’s reach.
Maintenance and care
Wipe the front surface with a soft damp cloth and avoid harsh solvents that can haze thermoplastics. Periodically check the cord routing and the snap fit, especially on boats that see vibration, to make sure the pull action stays smooth and the device remains seated.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
