Overview
The Vimar VM10196 is a flush-mount, double socket outlet with two 2P+E receptacles rated 15 A at 127 V~ and built to match USA and SASO plug standards. It fits a 3-module opening in the Vimar LINEA Classica system and gives you two grounded AC outlets in one device for cabins, salons, and other interior spaces.
On a boat, this is typically used on a 120 to 127 V AC circuit fed from shore power, a generator, or an inverter. The 2P+E format includes the earth connection, so it is suited to installations where grounding is part of the onboard AC safety system.
The body is thermoplastic and halogen-free with a matte, untreated surface in white (similar to RAL 9001). Overall device height and depth are 36 mm, which helps when you are checking clearance behind a liner or bulkhead before cutting in a new location.
Key features
- Two 2P+E outlets in one device (double socket outlet), rated 15 A at 127 V~
- USA and SASO standard receptacle format for compatible plugs
- 3-module device for Vimar LINEA Classica flush-mounted installations
- Device height 36 mm and device depth 36 mm for easier panel clearance planning
- Thermoplastic construction with halogen-free material
- Matte, untreated surface finish in white (similar to RAL 9001)
- Label space/information surface for identifying circuits or onboard zones
Compatibility and fit
This outlet is intended for a flush-mounted setup in compatible Vimar frames and mounting hardware that accept a 3-module device. Before ordering, confirm the module format in your existing switch and outlet runs, and confirm there is enough space behind the mounting surface for the 36 mm device depth plus wiring bend radius.
Electrically, verify your AC distribution matches the outlet rating: 127 V~ circuits with appropriate protection. If your boat is wired for 230 V AC outlets, this is not the right receptacle for that system.
Installation and setup
Plan the install location like you would any onboard AC outlet: keep it in an interior area where it will not see direct spray, and route wiring so it is supported and protected from vibration and chafe. As with any AC work on a vessel, shut down power at the source and confirm the circuit is de-energized before terminating conductors.
After wiring, use the label space to mark what the outlet is fed from or which breaker controls it, especially on boats that switch between shore power, generator, and inverter feeds.
Use on board
This is a practical fit for boats that want USA-style grounded outlets in living spaces while also matching SASO plug standards. It is commonly used for small appliances and chargers at the nav desk, in the salon, in staterooms, or near a settee where crew and guests plug in phones and laptops.
Materials and finish
The thermoplastic, halogen-free body suits everyday cabin use, and the matte white finish keeps the look understated next to common marine interior panels. If you are mixing devices across a refit, matching the LINEA Classica module format and color is the main thing that keeps the installation looking consistent.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
