Overview
The Vimar VM08037 is a 1-pole, 1-way rocker switch module with a luminous window for signalling or orientation lighting in the Vimar 8000 Series system. It is rated 10AX at 250 V AC, with support for self-ballasted lamps up to 100 W (IEC 60669-1:2017), and it carries an IP40 rating for protected locations.
The illumination function uses an exchangeable LED signalling unit, and the switch is supplied without the signalling unit. Wiring lands on screw terminals, and the module installs flush in a compatible frame with a snap engagement fit.
For boat use, this is the kind of switch that belongs in enclosed areas such as cabins, heads, saloons, or protected helm panels where it will not be exposed to direct spray or washdowns.

Compatibility and fit
This is a Vimar 8000 Series modular device in a 1-module size. It pairs with the appropriate 8000 Series mounting frame and cover plate for your panel layout, so it is worth matching the module count and plate style already installed on board.
Front size is 22.0 mm wide by 50.1 mm high. Allow for 35.5 mm overall depth, with 24.0 mm built-in depth behind the mounting surface.
Installation and wiring
Mount the module flush in the correct back box or panel support, then engage it into the frame using the snap fit. Connect the incoming feed and switched output at the screw terminals, keeping the circuit within the switch rating and the connected lamp load within the stated limits.
If you want the rocker to light for wayfinding, fit the compatible signalling unit so the LED can be used for control or orientation lighting depending on how the circuit is configured.
Use cases on board
This switch is a practical match for refits and new builds that use Vimar 8000 Series devices and want a switch you can find quickly at night without turning on overhead lights. It also works well where clear labeling matters, since the front includes a label space for identifying circuits on multi-switch panels.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
