Overview

The Jabsco 18590 Series is a set of replacement kits for servicing Jabsco 18590 Series marine macerator pumps used in waste discharge systems. These kits support pump-head maintenance rather than replacing the full pump, which is useful when the motor is still serviceable but the wet-end parts or fastening hardware need attention.

The 18590 Series macerator pump is used on board for holding tank discharge where permitted, with the pump grinding waste down to a maximum particle size of 1/8 inch so it can move through a 1 inch ID discharge hose. The related pump range includes 12V and 24V DC versions, so matching the kit to the existing pump body and pump age is important before service work begins.

This range includes a service kit for the pump-head components and a stainless steel bolt kit for older 18590 Series pumps. During service, power should be disconnected and seacocks should be closed before the pump is opened.

Key features
  • Service options for Jabsco 18590 Series macerator pumps used in marine holding tank discharge systems.
  • Helps restore the wet-end assembly when the impeller, body, gaskets, seal area, or wear surface need replacement.
  • Stainless steel bolt kit option replaces the older bronze stud and acorn nut hardware on applicable 18590 Series pumps.
  • Useful for onboard sanitation maintenance where keeping the existing pump in service is preferable to changing the complete unit.
  • Relevant to installations that discharge through 1 inch ID hose on compatible 18590 Series macerator pump systems.
Variants

The Jabsco 18590 Series kit range is offered in more than one configuration so the service parts can match the condition and age of the pump being repaired.

The kit type changes between variants. The service kit covers pump-head wear components, while the bolt kit covers fastening hardware for older 18590 Series macerator pumps.

  • 18598-1000: Service Kit. This kit is used when the pump-head service parts need replacement and includes the paper gaskets, impeller, body with seal installed, and small wear plate.
  • 17288-1000: Bolt Kit. This kit includes four stainless steel bolts and is used on older 18590 Series macerator pumps when replacing bronze studs and acorn nuts.
Compatibility and fit

These kits are for Jabsco 18590 Series macerator pumps. The service kit is also associated with 18690 Series macerator pumps, but the catalog selection here is centered on the 18590 Series, so the existing pump model should be checked before ordering.

The bolt kit is specifically tied to older 18590 Series pumps that used bronze studs and acorn nuts. Later service procedures may use the bolt kit arrangement, so confirming the hardware currently on the pump helps avoid ordering parts that do not match the pump being serviced.

Installation and service notes

Service work on a marine macerator pump should be handled with the sanitation system isolated. Disconnect the electrical power, close the relevant seacocks, and protect the work area before removing the pump-head components.

These parts are most relevant for owners maintaining a working sanitation system on cruising boats, fishing boats, and other vessels with a Jabsco 18590 Series macerator pump already installed. They are repair parts, not a complete pump assembly.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
